Uniform Trousers - MMTB - dark blue serge cloth, red stripe or bead on the outside of the trousers vertically, two front pockets, one back pocket from heavy calico cloth, belt loops, buttons for a pair of braces to be attached if needed, white cloth inner band at the top of the garment, button up fly and leather strips around the front of the trousers at the bottom where they would contact a shoe. Set of two fare tokens - 1 1/2d - 22mm diameter - dark brown celluloid - with words "Melbourne & Metropolitan" on circumference and "Tramways Board" in centre of token. On reverse in large font "1 1/2" and a small font "D" at to the right - indicating token had a value of one and a half pence. Both sides have a edge lining border about 1mm from the outer edge. Record updated following a query and being advised of an article in The Argus 1-4-1924 - see Reg Item 3359 for a copy. Item probably dates from c1920, phased out 1924.
