The Northern District School of Nursing opened in 1950 to address the issues around nurse recruitment, training and education that had previously been hospital based. The residential school was to provide theoretical and in-house education and practical training over three years. The students would also receive practical hands-on training in the wards of associated hospitals. The Northern District School of Nursing operated from Lister House, Rowan Street, Bendigo. It was the first independent school of nursing in Victoria and continued until it closed in 1989.A twelve page booklet being The Ninth Annual Report of the Committee of Management for the twelve months’ period 1st July 1958 - 30th June, 1959 of the Northern School of Nursing Committee of Management. The records also act as a history of arts activities in the Kew Recreation Hall and later in the Kew City Hall as entertainment and community arts and music precincts.One of five small black and white photographs of members of the cast in The "Q" Theatre Guild's production of Blossom Time in 1957. The were presumably promotional photographs as they are shot in the Royal Botanical Gardens in Melbourne. Grave of William Poulter (died 16/03/1888) and Mary Chapman Poulter (died 18/09/1899) in Plot# B6/B7 Greensborough Cemetery. This monument replaces an earlier damaged headstone. Replacement made by descendants of the family.Greensborough Cemetery was created when land was given for the cemetery by Mr William Poulter, a local settler, about 1864.
