The doll has wax legs with moulded boots, copostion arms. Thumb missing on left hand. Ginger wig. Holes in ears for earrings but earrings missing. No markings on doll. Doll’s face and shoulder plate badly damaged. Clothes need to washed. Large piece of lace in box with the doll. Appears to be of a later date than the doll. Printed sign with doll “Wax doll 1870. Clothing. Women's black embossed silk skirt. Part of two piece set(bodice 11410.1). A shaped skirt with 2.5 cm cotton fabric waistband with three hanging loops attached. Centre back opening (20cm) fastened at waist with two metal hooks and eyes. Two metal eyes on waistband for attaching to the bodice. The front of the skirt has two vertical sections of appliquéd decorative beading (38 cm X 5 cm). The hem of the skirt is edged with black satin binding. The skirt is fully lined with brown cotton fabric. At centre back below the opening is an internal pocket (40 cm X 8 cm) of lining fabric. The Presbyterian Church was built in 1871 by local contractor and grazier James Patterson of Nardoo Park, Woosang. The Presbyterian and Methodist Churches formed combined Parish in 1969. When the Commonwealth Post and Telegraph Act was passed in June 1902, and a national Postmaster General's Department (the PMG) was established the responsibility for the nation's mail and telephone services fell on local Post Offices. The Bendigo Post Office, built in 1887 and is situated on Pall Mall, it was the central distribution centre for receiving and delivering communication and postal services until 1997 and is now the Bendigo Visitor Centre. Clocks such as these were issued by the Post Master General's Department which was a department of the Australian federal government, established at Federation in 1901, whose responsibilities included the provision of postal and telegraphic services throughout Australia. It was abolished in December 1975 and replaced by the Postal and Telecommunications Department.Wall clock with ceramic face consisting of twelve Roman numerals with hand and minute hand. Clock has a wooden body with glass viewing panel in centre and brass internal mechanism and pendulum. The clock is fitted into a wooden display case and held in place by wooden pegs. The lower case has a small drawer which opens and holds the winding key. PMG on ceramic face centre upper. '146' and 'PMG' stamped into wooden clock frame below the number six. Key is stamped front; '8' verso; 'Made in England / Popular / Progress' and an ace of spades with a "P" in the centre. Spirits came in bottles and were sold at licensed premises.The shape, colour and production methods of the bottles have changed over time. Mitchel & Co. Belfast were established in 1860 in Belfast Ireland.This bottle was received from the ocean floor of the Portland Harbour.Clear heavy glass bottle with green tinge and heavy embossing, manufactured for Old Irish Whisky. The bottle is an oblong shape with long straight sides, three quarters of the way up the sides taper to the neck which has a lip and then the opening. The base of the bottle is curved inwards. Front top: OLD IRISH WHISKY TRADE (INSERT LOGO) MARK Logo: is a likeness of a imperial crown inside a square based shape that comes to a point at the bottom similar to a heat tip and steps in both sides up the top to form a small box top. The letters CL are visible in the centre of the crown. Used for making carbonated drinks. This double gourd style of syphon is most likely French.This is a beautiful example of a double gourd soda syphon. Relevance to the Glenelg Shire is unknown at this time.Soda Syphon made from glass. It has two gourd shaped bulbs which make up the whole syphon. The larger bulb is at the bottom with a smaller bulb above it. It has a tap at the top with a mark depicting two crossed swords and three balls beneath. The glass part of the syphon is covered in a protective metal mesh. The mesh is rusted.
