Victorian Association of Braille Writers had subcommittees including the 'Entertainment Committee' which organised concerts, lectures including fortnightly socials and dances throughout the year. These minutes contain information on attendees, meeting chair, apologies, minutes acceptance, matters arising from the minutes, accounts, reports, matters arising from reports, donations, general business and the date of the next meeting. This minutes includes a copy of the 41st & 42nd Annual Report 1935-1936 of the Entertainment Committee it noted that the Boat House, which was the gift of Mrs Cecil Macmeikan 10 years ago, was wholly destroyed during the storm in November however was repaired the next year. The donor, Jean Boucher was the daughter of Wally Ives and she was an early active member of the History Nook at the Surrey Hills Neighbourhood Centre and the Surrey Hills Historical Society. The Ives family were associated with the Wyclif Church Tennis Club, so this is possibly the Wyclif float.Black and white photo of a float created on the tray of a truck for the Empire Day celebrations in 1935 or 1936. The side of the truck and the cabin are decorated in palm leaves and 2 sets of crossed tennis racquets and the word 'tennis' appear on the side of the tray. Nurse Marianne Maggs undertook medical care and midwifery from 1900 - 1926 and delivered more than 500 babies. She was presented with a "wireless" in 1926 in appreciation for her services to the community. She sold her Ringwood house and moved to Mitcham. 10 medical books from 1909 to 1935 1 . The introduction in this book, by Doulas R. Aylen (CEO), explains that the book is a publication of the memoirs of William Ludwig Samuel Sebastian Lechte, written in the 1930s. Small book titled "CAULFIELD 1869 - 1935 MEMORIES OF THE PAST" by William Ludwig Samuel Sebastian Lechte, published by the City of Caulfield, 1993. The book has a cream coloured cover with the title and author, an aerial image of Caulfield featuring the Caulfield Town Hall and the City of Caulfield Coat of Arms printed on the front. The pages inside include 18 pages of black text printed on white pages. A sticker on the front bottom left hand corner reads 994.51, as this object was once a part of a library catalogue. -
