This button was found adjacent to the old lock-up in the backyard of present-day Fernlea Op-Shop, formerly the site of the Emerald Police Station. It was made by button manufacturer K. G. Luke, who was one of Australia's largest manufacturers of silverware, including buttons. This button was likely made sometime in between the death of King George VI in February 1952 and the changing of the company's name in May 1953, due to the presence of the Queen's crown on the front and the manufacturing details on the back. This button is significant as it demonstrates the presence of the Victorian Police Force in Emerald in the mid-20th CenturyA circular silver metal plated button with a raised Queen's crown in the centre. Black and white photograph of two women dress as water carriers in a corner of an unidentified backyard. Based on the shape of the vessels and the women's clothing, it has an Egyptian or possibly a Biblical theme. The women are identified in a (contemporary) typed label as 'E M Dollman and L McG...' E M Dollman is probably Edith Mary, daughter of Charles Arthur John (Jack) Dollman and Mary Ellen Mason, born 1903. The photograph was probably taken in the mid1920s. The photograph is on the same page of the album as P2023.034 to P2023.038. Part of the Dollman collection.

The woman to his right looks straight at the camera whilst she pours tea from a teapot into her cup, and is dressed in a black dress with a white flounce. Opposite Tom Marks sits a teenaged girl (probably daughter Hilda) wearing a pinafore over her dark dress with lace collar, and an older woman in a dark coloured dress with dark ruffled edging (who maybe his wife Mary Cecilia).
