Purchased 2 cable tram cars for 20 pounds each in 1940. Also bought one of the dummies that pulled the cars for 30 shillings.
Vehicles renovated and stored in his backyard in Bastings St Northcote.
Spends hours each day restoring trams to their 1890 condition.
Life member of Tramway Museum Society.
End of cable tram era began in 1925, when State Government ordered a start of conversion to electric trams. Conversion took 15 years.
