Black & white photograph of M&MTB 'E' 41 on Balloon loop at St. Kilda 4-1-1943. Tram has painted white strip under drivers windows, above headlight and bumper bars (part) and on edge of footboards. Has Kew-Cotham Road destination. Route 69. See inscription markings for further details. Note: the tram class was originally and E, but maximum traction cars were later classified by the MMTB as "C"; see Destination city p14. Tram was later to become SECV Ballarat No. 38. Hi Res image and of back added 10-12-2013 Reimaged 17/7/2017 both front and back.On rear in ink. Corner block (SE) behind photo has a 'For Sale' sign on it, with houses in background. Now a block of shops. Tram No. 36 is an F class car, later renumbered - see p14 of Destination City, 4th edition. See also inscriptions. This item is part of the Federation University Art Collection. A large lot of papers, including this and many other telegrams, were apparently found in the ceiling cavity of the Sandy Creek/Tarnagulla Post and Telegraph Office in the later 20th Century, during building works. Donald Clark Collection. Telegram sent from Sandy Creek/Tarnagulla Telegraph Office from Edmond Daly to Mrs Daly, care W. Ryan, Eureka St, Ballarat. Text reads 'Please state what you want me for'. -
