An extensive sale including Caterpillar, Cletrac, International Diesel Tractors, Elec. Generators, Elec. Motors, Chevrolet, Dodge, Ford V8, Motor Engines, Harness, Steel Shelving and Miscellaneous Equipment. J. H. Curnow & Son were the auctioneers. Catalogue has column for £, S and D down the right side of the page to write in the price of each lot. Contains a description of some lots. Other cuttings note the provision of bus stops in Ballarat, a hail storm the previous day (Friday 17/8/2005), floods, the derailment of a tram while on a tour for the Ballarat North Technical School, employment of those employees who had been retrenched and two letters re the replacement of the trams, including the aims of the BTPS to operate in Wendouree Parade. HMAS Orion (S 71) was an Oberon class submarine of the Royal Australian Navy (RAN). One of six submarines ordered by the RAN during the 1960s, Orion, named after the constellation in a break from ship-naming tradition, was built in Scotland and commissioned in 1977. Orion was decommissioned in 1996, marked for disposal in 2003, and broken up for scrap in 2006.
