Mullawullah was born c1821, and was thought to be a member of the Burrumbeet Balug of the Wadawurrung people. For some time Mullawullah lived at Ercildoun Station, owned by Sir Samuel Wilson. As part of the National Trust's Australian Heritage Festival 2021, the Kew Historical Society and the Villa Alba Museum collaborated to mount a fashion and design exhibition. The theme of the exhibition took its focus from the year-long program at the Museum featuring the use of flowers in design. The walls and ceilings of the house are notable for their use of floral and narrative painted decoration produced, in the early 1880s, for William and Anna Maria Greenlaw by the Melbourne art decoration firm the Paterson Brothers. The examples of fashion and design from the collection of the Kew Historical Society were located on the ground floor of the house: in the drawing room, dining room, morning room and in the vestibule, or ballroom as it was sometimes described in nineteenth century newspapers. Born in England during the Depression, he experienced the Blitz on London, the Flying Bombs, and then the V2 rockets. From the age of sixteen Charles spent the next 24 years travelling the world aboard British, New Zealand, Fijian, and Australian ships, then settled ashore in Melbourne to start his own packaging business. He was later asked to work with the U.N. in Jordan, based in Amman for some time. On his return to Melbourne, he was appointed CEO for the continued restoration of the award winning sailing ship Polly Woodside, now the pride of our City. Whilst there, Charles initiated the construction of the ship "Enterprize" replica. Finally, he used his knowledge as a navigator to excite over 800,000 Victorian school children with the basics of Science and Astronomy. Charles decided to retire after teaching for 23 years, at the tender age of 82. It is quite a Lifetime. The framed collage of photographs and historical information was produced in 1998, the 22nd year of the production of the Buninyong and District Community Newsletter. It shows those involved in the newsletter production in both 1988, the Bicentennial year, and in 1998. Production of a community newsletter continued until 2021. Framed group of photographs showing people involved in the production of the Buninyong and District Community News in 1988 and 1998. Two group photographs give the names of each person involved in the production of the newsletter and four other photographs show group members working on collating the newsletter in the Old Buninyong Library, now the Visitor Information Centre.
