Set of instructions or Administrative document prepared by the MMTB for the 1970 Royal Visit to Melbourne by HM Queen Elizabeth II and family during April 1970. Instructions for Traffic Officers regarding the Royal Progress, holding tram and bus services while the motorcade passed. Details the arrangements for each day, timing, locations, Traffic Officer's responsibilities, and Inspector table numbers. These are two administrative record books from the Warrnambool Town Council which took over from the Warrnambool Borough Council in 1883 and existed until 1918 when it became the Warrnambool City Council. .1 Warrnambool Town Council letter book dating from 1904 to 1918 containing copies of letters written by the Rate Collector, Thomas Beattie .2 Warrnambool Town Council Contract Book dating from 1902 to 1909. The contract details include the name of the supplier or tradesman and the costs. Some of the contracts deal with the Corporation Baths, the Botanic Gardens and town tree planting. Set of four documents regarding the issue of a Scholar's Concession Ticket to Barbara Talbot, a student at the Star of the Sea who turned 18 years of age during the currency of the ticket. It was marked not available after that date and had been returned to the Elwood office. The Memo from the "Auditor of Receipts" requested that an additional payment be collected from the student. Mr Gleeson, Tramway Inspected advised that ticket was not used after the lady's birthday and had been returned. These ledgers are administrative records of the Warrnambool Friendly Societies Park Trust. One contains Minutes of meetings from 1931 to 1947 and the other is an Accounts Book with records of payments for salaries, insurance, rentals, ground improvements etc. from 1908 to 1947. Some inserts in the ledgers date back to the early days of the Trust. In 1871 the Friendly Societies of Warrnambool (benefit societies which mainly offered members heath cover, including the Oddfellows, Foresters, Hibernians,, Rechabites, Sons of Temperance, Druids and Protestant Alliance) established a sports ground in Warrnambool. This included facilities for cricket, football and Athletics Carnivals and other public demonstrations and meetings and was administered by a Trust with members representing each of the Friendly Societies. Today the area is a major sports facility and still has the name Friendly Societies Park but it is now administered by the Warrnambool City Council. These items are of considerable historical interest as they contain much detail about the early history of the Friendly Societies Park Trust and give researchers valuable information on the work of benefit societies in the late 19th and early 20th centuries in Warrnambool and also on a major sports facility still existing in Warrnambool. .1 Ledger of 380 pages with a black cover and beige leather spine and corners. The Compressed Gas plant was part of the equipment installed to provide gas for the buses during the early stage of the Second World War. The objects of the committee is to act under the authority and subject to control of the Council of the Borough of Ringwood as the Local Board of Management and to act as an advisory consultive and operational Committee, to lay out, and effect improvements and works of beautification, ornamentation and use for the benefit and enjoyment of citizens and to keep and maintain such Reserve in good order and condition and raise funds for improving and mataining such Reserve. The Committee shall consist of two Councillors and Town Clerk and two representatives from each: Football Club, Cricket Club, Tennis Club and Progress Association and 2 Citizens.

A report to the Mayor stating it was decided a Committee of Management be appointed to manage the East Ringwood Reserve. Building report Ringwood East Reserve from C Merry, Building Surveyor and Mr Lucas to the Mayor and Councillors Borough of Ringwood 17/7/51. Building can be jacked up and reblocked where necessary. 300' of flooring is necessary in the west section. Roof, spouting and downpipes require overhauling. Needs some repair work inside and outside. Estimated cost 220 pounds.

Used by the committee of the Ringwood Co-operative Cool Stores Society Ltd. Started at the 81st meeting and ended with the 200th meeting on 6-Feb-1934.Brown watermarked covered book with suede spine and suede corners. 'Minute Book' is printed on red leather on spine. There are 286 pages all used.

The VC Reference Number range 33001-34999 has been reserved. The Borough of Ringwood was created in December 1924, formally part of the South-West riding of the Shire of Lillydale. Ringwood was proclaimed a city on 19 March 1960. On 15 December 1994, the City of Ringwood was amalgamated to form part of Maroondah City Council. The detailed years are: 1924-25, 1926-27, 1928-29, 1930-31, 1932-34, 1934-35 and 1944-49. For researchers, the rate books are in assessment number sequence. Occasionally, they is also in surname or estate sequence but do not rely on this. The original records are kept at PROV, North Melbourne. At 13/3/2021 the bulk of the collection is being processed ready for a bulk load to Victorian Collections.
