Cape worn with the uniform of the nurses of the Australian Army Nursing Service during the World War 2 period. This cape is a crimson colour and was worn with the standard issue AANS winter uniform. The cape is worn over the uniform tunic and joined at the front by a hook and eye fastener. The cape has epaulettes on both shoulders with the insignia worn by an Army Lieutenant and has the standard semi circular "AUSTRALIA" insignia on each shoulder.

United States Army standard issue infantry heavyweight webbing waist belt as worn in World War 1. This is an example of a 'trophy' belt, complete with a souvenir collection of metal insignia, badges and buttons which are attached to the belt. The belt has brass fittings however the original buckle is missing. There are a total of 83 various allied military insignia, badges and uniform buttons from the World War 1 era, 56 metal insignia and badges and 27 metal buttons which are mostly of Australian, New Zealand, Canadian or British origin. Belt manufactured by M W & S Limited of England in 1915.The reverse side of the belt is stamped "M W & S LTD., 1915" and has an "L" stamp and the Defence Department "/|\". The belt reverse also has the following name in black handwriting "A Paxino 9781 2211". Note A Paxino was associated with Frankston RSL Sub Branch for many years.

A letter sent to Australia by an Australian Army serviceman whilst on duty in Kure, Japan during the post World War 2 occupation. The serviceman is Driver B. Gillott service number VX97756, of the 1 Australian Salvage Unit of the B.C.O.F. The letter is dated 15th July, 1946 and is of five handwritten pages of approximately 8 x 5 inches in size. The stationery is printed in red ink with the Salvation Army, Australian Comforts Fund and YMCA insignia above the ruled writing area. The paper is a buff colour.This writing paper has the insignia of The Salvation Army, Australian Comforts Fund and YMCA printed in red above the ruled writing area.

A loose pack of 53 sheets of printed writing paper distributed to service personnel for the purpose of writing to their family and friends. This stationery is printed in red ink with a ruled writing area above which is a letterhead. The letterhead features the names of the charitable organisations involved in producing and distributing the stationery. The reverse side of the paper has ruled lines printed vertically in blue ink. The paper is approximately 8 x 5 inches in size and is a buff colour.The paper has printed letterhead with the "AUSTRALIAN COMFORTS FUND", "VICTORIAN DIVISION", the ACF insignia and the note "With Which is Affiliated". The affiliated organisation names are also printed, being "R.S.L War Service Fund", "Y.M.C.A.", "The Salvation Army" and the "Y.W.C.A."

Several items were given by a seafarer, Mr Nicholas Garlick (1926-2009) into the care of Father Brady who retired from St Pauls Cathedral, Melbourne in 2018. Father Brady later donated the collection of; objects, documents and an extensive collection of cruise ship menus (1937-end of 20thC) to the Mission via the intermediary William Hastie, volunteer at the Mission for Seafarers.Possibly a pamphlet printed for VIP guests and families attending the ceremony.Two page Anzac Day memorial service pamphlet/leaflet. WW2 standard army issue kitbag.Name and serial number of soldier stenciled on bag. Details of service available on Australian WW2 Memorial Roll. Donated by a family member who was a Montmorency/Eltham sub-branch member.The kitbag consists of a long, brown, canvas cylinder closed at the bottom. The top has an internal canvas flap and eight brass grommets to allow a drawstring type rope to securely close the bag. A metal D-shaped hinged clasp to enable fitting of a padlock (end of straight section of D has been broken off - see photo). This book was produced as a gift for Australian soldiers and their families on the Western Front in 1917. In the introduction General Birdwood, Commander of the ANZACS, explained it was for ‘…those whom we left behind in Australia, and who we know are thinking of us, some idea of our surroundings on the battle fronts…’.This book is a significant contemporary record of life for the Australian soldiers on the Western Front during World War 11.Grey cardboard covered 128 pp book with black and red writing on cover. the title, "FROM THE AUSTRALIAN FRONT" is in black print at the top above a black drawn sketch of two soldiers behind a mound and holding bayonets. at the foot is XMAS. 1917 inside a red rectangle with the insignia of the Australian Army (the rising sun) at the top. The two badges belonged to Dr William Roy Angus and are now part of Flagstaff Hill’s comprehensive W.R. Angus Collection, donated by the family of Dr W R Angus, 1901-1970, surgeon and oculist. The badges date to the World War I era, when Dr Angus was a youth. These badges were also used in World War II it seems, and could have belonged to Dr Angus when he was a Surgeon Captain for the Australian Defence Forces during World War II when he was in his forties.
