Photograph: image of stone well, Biffins Track, Maiden Gully. Circular structure lined with sandstone type stones. Measures 3.7 mt. across at widest point and is approx. 2.7 mt. deep. Large Ironbark on RH side of well. File contains letter from Mrs. Michele Dwyer, 27 Katherine Cres., Maiden Gully, dated 19th. Feb. 2003. Inspection by Kay MacGregor and Phil Wilkin in 2012 revealed well still intact, and on private property, not Crown Land. Sepia photograph. View of the Botanical Gardens, White Hills. A path cuts horizontally across the foreground where a young fir tree is growing. Beyond the path there is a small building on the far left, a shed structure with surrounding picket fence, followed by a small cottage and a stand of eucalyptus trees extending to the right. Document - Lydia Chancellor collection: congregational church Bendigo and district
The Sutton grange Congregational Church was built in 1865. Original services were held in the home of Mr James Grey who served the church for 50 years. The Bendigo Congregational church originally operated out of the Mechanics Institue building before moving temporarily to the Church of England school room. In May 1858, a meeting was held to establish a permanent building and tenders were called in September 1858. Land was purchased in Forest Street from the estate of Mr WIlkinson and the new brick structure was opened 28/11/1858.Manilla folder titled: Congregational Church Bendigo and district. Colour photograph of bluestone fireplace erected at Barnadown to commemorate the camp site of the Burke and Wills expedition.The stone fireplace is a memorial to the Burke and Wills Expedition which camped near here. It was erected by the Waranga Shire Council to commemorate the centenary of the Victorian Exploring Expedition`s passage through the Barnadown district in 1860. A plaque on the structure reads: 'Burke and Wills Centenary. The party camped near this spot on 28th August 1860 on its outward journey.
