This was presented to the Rev Yule on 22 February 1907. Alexander Yule was born in 1830 in Aberdeenshire, Scotland becoming licenced in the Free Church of Scotland in 1854. He came to Australia in 1870 where he became Minister of Erskine church, Carlton. In 1892 College Church Parkville was established by members of the Erskine congregation. In 1891 he was moderator of Victoria. This hospital equipment was available in the 1950s when the Tawonga District General Hospital was built specifically for the increase in population due to the Kiewa Hydro Scheme.Historical: Shows the development of scientific hospital equipment. Provenance: Used in the Tawonga District General Hospital which was remote and therefore required good equipment.White enamel bedpan pear shaped with the front (narrow) edge having no overlap. Denis Gibbons (1937 – 2011) Trained with the Australian Army, before travelling to Vietnam in January 1966, Denis stayed with the 1st Australian Task Force in Nui Dat working as a photographer. For almost five years Gibbons toured with nine Australian infantry battalions, posting compelling war images from within many combat zones before being flown out in late November 1970 after sustaining injuries. The Percy Uebergang family lived at Tooram Park, Allansford from 1912 until 1992. Percy and Myrtle Uebergang's children were twins, Ray and Joyce born in 1926 who lived at Tooram Park until their deaths, Ray in 1986 and Joyce in 1992. Neither Ray nor Joyce married and following the death of her brother Joyce set up the Ray and Joyce Uebergang Foundation which supports the local community. This bookis part of the collection of items given into the care of the Cheese World Museum. History of the local Allansford charge (group of churches) marking its Diamond Jubilee. Maryanne COUTTS (1960- ) Born Australia Maryanne Coutts studied at the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA), The University of Melbourne, 1979 -1981, the University of NSW (UNSW),1984 and achieved a PhD at Federation University Australia in 1999. She has exhibited extensively throughout Australia and internationally including UK, Spain and Thailand and is currently Head of Drawing at the National Art School, Sydney. Dr Maryanne Coutts was the first successful Visual Arts PhD from the Federation University Arts Academy. She won the Portia Geach Memorial Award in 2007. This item is part of the Federation University Art Collection.
