Operated by VR on the St Kilda to Brighton broad-gauge line until it was scrapped in 1957. Black and white photograph of tramcar 76 at Batman Avenue terminus in 1925. The tram is a single-truck California combination tram, one of 20 built for the P&MTT in 1915. The photo was taken at Batman Avenue in 1925 and shows a driver or conductor adjusting the trolley pole. The photo shows the Batman Ave terminus and Flinders St station in the background. Tram 76 was built in 1915 by the Meadow Manufacturing Co in Sydney for the Prahran and Malvern Tramways Trust before transferring to the MMTB in 1920. The J-class tram was bought by the SECV in 1931 and moved to Ballarat as tram No. 19. It operated in Ballarat until it was transferred to Bendigo in 1960 as tram No. 7, operating as public transport until 1972. It is now in operating condition at the Tramway Museum Society of Victoria in Bendigo. Entered service Saturday 13 November 1937. In April 1984 converted to SW5. Currently stored at Newport Workshops. Black and white photograph of Freight Car 206 at Preston Workshops. This tram began as one of 10 single truck saloon trams built by J.G. Brill & Co., USA and assembled by Duncan and Fraser, Adelaide. It entered service for the NMETL as tram number 5 on 13/10/1906. It was transferred to MMTB and renumbered as U class tram 206 on 1/8/1922. It was withdrawn from service in 1938 and was converted to a freight car. It entered service 27/4/1928 and was withdrawn from service and sold in 1981. The tram's destination is shown as "Special". The tram has been fitted "T" lettered taillights. The second tram, 198, is a Q1 class single truck straight-sill combination tram built by the MMTB at Holden St Workshops. It entered service in 1923 and was reclassified as a Q class tram. It was converted to all night service in 1937 and operated until 1957.
