Henry Ison (1832-1915) was a butcher and cattle agent who lived mainly in the Dunnolly - Tarnagulla area. He married Elizabeth Carter in 1853 and they had 7 children of which 3 reached adulthood. These included their son Thomas (1863-1947). Henry was one of the founding members of the Loyal Prince Alfred Lodge of Oddfellows, a member of the Dunolly Borough Council for 9 years and one of the first trustees of the Dunnolly Racecourse.8524 Three receipts for purchases in early 1900. 8524a Mr. H Ison bought 6 bullocks on 4/10/1904 from Howe & McCulloch. 8524b Mr. T Ison bought 4 pigs, 2 & 13 lambs from Alf. Wooden model of Specimen Cottage, Hargreaves Street, Bendigo.Model is painted white, with brown painted roof. The roof is designed to mimic the profile of the Morecomb and Rogers metal tiles on the original building. Model of cottage was for sale at the Bendigo Market in early 2018 where the donor, John Williams purchased it for the Bendigo Historical Society. Clovelly Guest House was formerly Braco Park Guest House, owned and run by Eliza and Grace Murdoch. The original Guest House 'Clovelly' , owned by Mrs. Techow, was situated in The Crescent at Sassafras. After it burned down in 1921, Mrs. Techow purchased Braco Park and renamed it Clovelly. The site was purchased by the Education Department c1985 and is now Sherbrooke Community School. These books were added to the library of the School of Mines Ballaarat in 1889. This piece may originally have been Indian in origin. It was purchased by the donor at the Oxford Street Market in Paddington, Sydney.Small ceramic figurine of a woman giving birth, attended by a doctor. Scene depicts a woman in a white gown lying on her back an obstetric table, with her knees up and feet flat on the table. A doctor dressed in white is sitting on a chair at the end of the table, between the patients legs, with arms raised ready to receive a baby. Both figures in the scene have brown skin and black hair. A word is engraved on the underside of the base of the figurine, which may be the name of the artist, but it is illegible.obstetric delivery
