Dave Macartney advised 12/1/2001 that the crew member on the left is Sam Serman, who was senior inspector at the time and drove special trams. Demonstrates the Museums phasing out of tickets priced for the actual fare and conversion to a universal ticket that does not have to be changed for a fare increase. Block of 100 tickets - green ink on off white paper, denomination 1/- (1 shilling), headed Ballarat Vintage Tramway. On rear in green ink are details of the Ballarat Tramway Museum, slogan and web address. The 100 tickets have been stapled onto a heavy cardboard back with a heavy metal staple and a small cardboard retaining strip at the top of the ticket. 1622 - A00001 to A00100 (the first block collected at the time of issue 3/1/1991 - 81H x 36H 1622.1 - A20601 to A20700 - 2nd print run of tickets, collected at the time of issue - 25/7/1993 - 81H x 33H 1622.2 - A70801 to A70900 - 3rd print run of tickets, collected at time of issue 1/2001 - 82H x 37W The tickets are in the style of the former State Electricity Commission of Victoria tramway tickets. The 1/- tickets used for Adult passengers, to save printing new tickets each time the fares changed. Commenced used end Jan. 1991. Guides Ballarat Tramway Preservation Society conductors about their duties, ticket issuing, pay-ins sales etc. Was the first version of this document. Prepared by Peter Walker. The first version was issued 1/11/1989. see item 8875. Was collected from the depot 1/2001 when a new version of the Guidelines was issued. In use from c1990 to 2001 as a sample copy and loaned to new conductors. Document originally prepared by Peter Walker, who passed away 24/9/2005 - see Reg Item 6838 for Obituary.Demonstrates BTPS documentation for crew use.Folder containing in plastic sheets, the 1/5/1990 version of the Ballarat Vintage Tramway Operating Guidelines. The document is a photocopied version of "Issue 2 / 1.5.90" on yellow paper. It consists of 33 sheets which have been amended in a number of places to adjust for cash floats, fares, museum sales tin. Yields information about the use of the trams on the Sebastopol line and their use by school children.Bromide of a black and white photograph of Ballarat trams 41 and 42 crossing at the Grey St. Loop, Albert St. Sebastopol, c1970. School children are boarding No. 41, which is inbound with the destination of Lydiard St. North. No. 42 is southbound, or outbound with a destination of Sebastopol. Richard Gilbert photo. Bromide made c1994 for possible publication, but not used, though may have been used in another publication. Print of the actual photograph added 27/1/2019 - see image i1. Richards notes that came with the photograph "Near the end of school term, students use the trams for the last few days of the closing school term. When the next terms commenced, the trams had been replaced". See image i2. Two page Gestetner copy of an amended timetable for tram services in Bendigo for the SECV issued 29 June 1970. Gives times for the departure from the City and the terminus for the Eaglehawk, Quarry Hill, Golden Square and North Bendigo routes. Page 1 for Monday to Friday, page 2 for Saturday and on the bottom of page 2, details of Sunday services commencing from 2pm, until about 10.30pm. May have been the last timetable issued for Bendigo. On Gestetner foolscap sized paper, stapled in the top left corner. Headed the "Northern Electricity Supply Branch / Bendigo Tramways - Amended Timetable - 29th June, 1970" 1637.1 - 2nd copy added 22/08/04 - has two staples in top left hand corner.
