Construction of the Waranga Basin initially took place 1905-1915 when it was dug by pick, shovel and horse-drawn scoops. It's embankment was initially 29ft high but over time this was increased to 40 ft. Bomford Bas Relief Mythological Goat. Created from Sheet Copper. Carved and hammered Bas relief of a mythological creature resembling a goat with long straight horns. The Carving was created by an artist in residence at the Bendigo Psychiatric Centre ( Golden City Support Services) prior to closure. It is approximately 1.5metres high and 1.00metre wide. Mounted on a Large green wooden board. See 7312 also. Items represent the constellations Capricorn and Aquila. The Spring Gully Gold Mining property consists of Gold Mining Lease No. 2986, Castlemaine, of about 21 acres situated on the Emu Reef, in Spring Gully Fryers. There are two shafts, distant about 300 feet from each other. From one of them large quantities of gold were obtained in former years by previous companies.
