The photograph is one of a series of 6 which feature the Sunbury Railway Station complex. The complex includes photographs of the railway station with the wooden pedestrian bridge which has been demolished and two photographs of the water towers. The photographs were taken before the railway land on the west side of the line was developed to make way for a supermarket complex in 2000.A view of the brick and iron water tower which is sited on the Bendigo side of the Sunbury Railway Station. The photograph was taken after Coles Supermarket and Sunbury Shopping Square were constructed on the railway land on the east side of the line in 1989, but before the Safeway-Woolworths complex was built in 2000 on the west side of the railway line. Riddell Road is the continuation of Macedon Street and is on the west side of the town centre. The bluestone 'road over rail' bridge at Macedon Street is of state architectural, architectural, historical and engineering significance. It spans the first government regional railway. This photograph was taken during the upgrade of the Bendigo Railway line at Sunbury Station. The upgrade took twelve months to complete and during that time bus services replaced the trains.A coloured photograph of construction on the site of the Sunbury Railway Station. Powdered milk was sod in cans before plastic packaging was introduced. The Nestle Company manufactured the Sunshine powdered milk in Australia and was made from full cream pasteurised milk which had the water content removed from it this would then allow the tins of powdered milk to be transported without refrigeration. The powdered milk could then be made up by adding water at the recommended quantities as per directions on the labels.A white, and green paper covered rusty tin. The front of the label is printed in black advertising Sunshine full cream milk powder.
