The photographs show Legatee Fred Holdsworth delivering the address commemorating Donovan Joynt VC on 24th October 1989. Also in the photographs is Colonel Joynt's army uniform just before it was donated to the Australian War Museum in Canberra. In 01604(2) Legatee Holdsworth can be seen reading from the album which contained these photographs (Cat.No. 01588). The other legatee is L/ Chas Wilks who was President in 1989. See also Cat. Program of a reception for the Duchess of York by the National Council of Women of Victoria on 26 April 1927 at the St Kilda Town Hall. Music by Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. In 1927, the Duke and Duchess of York, (later King George VI and Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother) came to Australia to officiate the opening of the new Parliament House in Canberra on 9 May. They arrived in Sydney on 26 March and departed from Fremantle on 23 May. They were in Victoria on 21 - 29 April. Document - Script, Robin Boyd, The Flying Dogtor. Episode 52 End of Series, 1963
This is the last episode of 'The Flying Dogtor'. The Dogtor found himself falling through the icy water, and there was nothing he could do to stop himself. But suddenly, he was shooting upwards and burst through the top of the well. A real sea serpent came to the Dogtor's rescue. Framed print produced by the gravure process. The print is in sepia tonings and depicts a military scene, presumably Turkish. The print is mounted with a brown wooden frame and glass front. Artist is Erol Yildirim, born 1959 in Bolu, Turkey. The print is number 51 of 100 and is dated 2015. This print was presented to the President and members of the Frankston RSL Sub Branch by the people of Turkey in early 2015 (just prior to the 100th Anniversary of the Gallipoli landing). The rear of the print has a brief biography of the artist and an explanation of the process used to produce the print attached. There is also a 'with compliments' slip from the Embassy of Turkey, Canberra attached.This print is marked "51/100" and has the artists name "Erol YILDIRIM 2015" -

Professor John Ely Burchard was the Dean of Faculty of Humanities and Social Science at MIT. He was on a 3 month visit to Australia in 1951 as a guest of the Commonwealth government to help draw up a program for the The National Library of Australia in Canberra. He was authority on architecture and libraries. Robin Boyd met Professor Burchard at that time. Boyd was appointed the Bemis Visiting Professor at MIST 1956-57. A 94 page cookbook compiled by Legacy in the 2018. In the acknowledgments special mention was made of the Bendigo, Canberra and Melbourne Legacy Clubs and to the legatees that contributed recipes. Some of the recipes also appear to come from widows in tribute to their husbands' favourite recipes. The publication was supported by Thales who had been in partnership with Legacy since 2008. Copies were sold for $20 each. The book is dedicated to the men, women and families of the Australian Defence Force. Pages 8, 9 and 10 from Melbourne Legacy Bulletin of 9.11.1989. Joynt's long association with Melbourne Legacy was celebrated at the Comradeship Hour at Legacy House on Tuesday 24 October 1989, two years after his death and just before the transfer of his uniform to the War Museum in Canberra. The address was given by Legatee Fred Holdsworth and followed by the complete citation from Joynt's V.C. award. See also Cat No. 01599. Series of documents recording the third progress payment to W.B. Russell for writing 'There Goes a Man', his signed receipt, outline of progress and the way in which the payments wasere used. He notes four main fields of activity - sifting and arranging Savige's own records, research and interviews in Canberra and Sydney, background reading (newspapers etc.), and the writing of the first two chapters. Most of the first progress payment was directed to reimbursement of salary lost whilst working full time on the book, as well as travel and accommodation expenses.Part of the story of how the book 'There goes a Man' came to be created.Typed documents, black on white.
