The photograph shows Geelong No. 2, built by Duncan and Fraser of Adelaide in 1911 in its as-built configuration, c1920 at the Wharf terminus, known as the Moorabool Street Pier. The tram line was opened in 1912 and closed in 1940 when the track in Corio St was extended to the Beach terminus. There are a number of horse-drawn vehicles in the view with goods being loaded or unloaded on the ship moored on the right. The tramway was operated by the Melbourne Electric Supply Co. (MESCo). The photograph from the collection of Ken Magor was published in the Sydney Tramway Museum's magazine Trolley Wire in April 1981. The photo caption advises - "The steamship to the right is the Edina, a veteran Port Phillip steamer which was launched in 1854 and was not broken up until 1957." Plaques recognising the funds donated by AFB supporters as part of the Vision Victoria Appeal, that helped build the Vision Resource Centre at Kooyong 1987-1989. The need for services for people with low vision was recognised by the AFB, who undertook to provide a range of services including diagnosis of low vision, advisors on how people with low vision could best utilise their existing sight, and objects designed to assist in everyday living. Initially operating out of a flat facing Glenferrie Road, which the Association had purchased, the growing demand demonstrated that a larger dedicated area was required. To encourage the development of audio books, a series of awards were established by the National Library of Australia in 1988, and sponsored by TDK from 1991 until their demise in 2000. Open to both commercial and non-commercial publishers, it aimed to recognise the quality achievements by individuals and publishing houses and to promote the inclusion of audio books into the mainstream market. The Feelix library was developed to help children who were blind or have low vision experience the connection with books via tactile objects. Each print book was hand selected, a clear Braille overlay placed on the pages, and items relating to the story were made or purchased and added to the kit. The kit (book and objects) was held inside a cardboard suitcase and sent through the mail in a bright orange, zippered plastic padded pouch with a carry strap.
