A group of four posters published for the centenary of Melbourne trams in 1985 by the Metropolitan Transit Authority 701.1 - Poster on creamy paper, title "The Centennial Celebration of the Melbourne Tram 1885 - 1985", features cable tram dummy, bogie cable trailer, horse tram, A, F, J, S, W2, U, SW2, Z3, and A class of 1984 on poster with three tickets illustrated as well. (two copies of this poster added June 2000 - from the ARHS Vic. Div., June 2000 These are black and white versions of the poster, on white paper, different in size - 640H x 445W) 701.2 - as for 701.1m but on glossy paper, titled "Tramways 1885 - 1985". 701.3 - Poster on glossy paper, featuring Melbourne Buses, titled "Buses 1925 - 1985", features 11 different bus types. 701.4 - Poster on glossy paper, featuring Melbourne suburban trains, titled "Railways 1854 - 1985", features 11 different railway trains, or pictures. Photo taken at Preston Workshops, shows interior fit out at the time of construction, with central strap hangers (leather), light fittings. Tram would appear to have been service for some time as it is fitted with advertisements and M&MTB posters. Destination City, 4th Edition page 42 notes that W2 329, 331, 332, 335 were fitted with leather seating in 1929. The tram has a run number (E48), is showing Essendon Depot. From shadows is late in the afternoon. Date of photo taken based on the series of photos received from the ARHS as being during Oct. and Dec. 1965. On Kodak paper. W3's were not based or attached to Essendon and would thus appear to be a visiting tram, but in service due to the presence of a run number. Mounted black and white photograph of 19 uniformed ESCo employees and two or three non-uniformed employees in front of the Australian Tramway Employees Association (Employees) Banner possibly at the time of a Union or Labor Day Parade, Ballarat. Photograph 145H x 189W. The banner contains a painted image of Prahran and Malvern Municipal Tramways, (PMTT) C class No. 30. Date - 1914? Image 1 of the photograph and part of the mounting. Mounting is an embossed cardboard with a raised border and different filigree on either side of the boarder. Cardboard has a light grey colour finish. On the bottom right hand side is the photographers name "T.C. Owen, 609 Sturt St. Ballarat". Image 2 - mounting and photograph showing general condition of the mounting. Pamphlet titled "Melbourne's Painted Trams" with subtitle "Transporting Art", printed on one side of a single sheet of art paper, then folded in half, then folded in concertina style (6 panels), featuring the 15 Melbourne W2 class tramcars that were painted in the years between 1978 and 1982. Provides notes on the artists, their thoughts on the projects and details of the project. Sponsored by the Victorian Ministry for the Arts and Ministry of Transport. Notes that 14 of 15 trams had reached the end of their working lives and were to be auctioned on 7/12/1986, that No. 504, Clifton Pugh was to be donated to Museum of Victoria and that a new series of 20 painted trams were being sponsored. Photo shows the Ballarat Railway Station clock tower, part of the train shed and the signals on the station side of the gates. A "B" class locomotive on a passenger train is standing in platform 1 of the station. Kodak cardboard mount slide, taken by Peter Moses assumed Jan. 1969, dated only "Jan", but date lines up with Bendigo slides and type of numbering. This tram later became Ballarat No. 11.Black and white print from a Geoff Grant negative of a Geelong bogie tram entering Corio Terrace from the Geelong depot on 8/1/1956, while Pengelley 19 waits in the siding. The bogie tram (37) has destination of "Special", 19 - "Chilwell". Has the Geelong SEC depot/powerhouse building in the background with part of the Blakistons' sign visible.
