Rev. James Harcourt (1866-1938) was the son of Rev John Harcourt. He was the first student of Queen's College to graduate at the University of Melbourne. He was a chaplain of Wesley College and a tutor at Queens College for six years. In 1909 he became Minister of Glendearg Grove Church in Malvern. Brown leather and gilt the inside is lined with watered silk on the left and a richly illuminated text on the right. The top has images of two churches and the borders are decorated with blue, yellow and red flowers. This iron was given to Isobel and Stan Campbell by another woman in Boort Victoria pre 1999 as per the letter attached with the Donation form. These irons were manufactured in Australia as per the printing on the cardboard box and instruction sheet. These self-generating gas irons used methylated spirits in the small tank at the back of the iron. The irons would have been used prior to electricity being available to be connected to a house and used for ironing clothes and other woven material items used by the members of the household.Brown cardboard box with separate lid with black printing on the front and back of box and lid. The coat along with matching hat and dress ensemble was made in 1980 at the Deniliquin TAFE 'Garment Assembly' course which was 2 years in duration. Mrs Sayer was always crafty but not great at other subjects. Coat is lined with a petticoat which Mrs Sayer wore in 1958. The seal fur collar was purchased by Mrs Sayer's mother at the shop 'Manly Corso' in Sydney, after WW1 with money from her father.Light brown wool coat with seal fur collar attached.
