According to inscriptions within the book, Thompson was discharged on 27 December 1945. His home address was 10 Clarke St Prahran VIC. He was a fitter and turner and went on to work for EA Machin & Co 535 Elizabeth St Melbourne as a mechanical fitter after the war.

Small brown rectangular bi-fold card from World War II. Within the card is a record of personal equipment issued to Army No VX111547 with typed and handwritten red and blue ink inscriptions from 21/12/44 to 21/1/46.
