The inaugural meeting to form Harcourt Bowling Club was held in May 1955. Cr Ben Bingham donated half an acre of land in Bagshaw st Harcourt and the club acquired a small building from Blight's Quarry to serve as a clubhouse. The first day's play took place on 24th October 1959. New clubrooms were built in 1961 with the official opening of the Club held on Saturday 11th November 1961. The club became affilaited with Bendigo District Bowling Assocaition and, in 1966/67 won the Associated division 3 pennant. ; Depicts a group of men, the core ‘movers and shakers’ of the Harcourt community, in the course of their favourite recreation, Association champions in just the seventh year after formation.. Black and white photograph of fourteen men dressed in collar and tie, white trousers and dark blazers, each bearing the club name, HARCOURT BOWLING CLUB B.D.B.A. PENNANT WINNER - DIVISION 3- SEASON 1966-67 and the names of each player. -

The flag is divided 2 ways diagonally with colours of dark blue, white, red, & yellow. David Dixon RAN R112262. Enlisted July 1972 as a Junior recruit age 15 years 9 months at HMAS Leeuwin. Passed out as Ordinary Seamen QMG and posted to HMAS Sydney 111 in Sept 1973. Jan 1974 - Feb 1981 with HMAS Derwent River Class Destroyer. Feb 1981 posted to HMAS Flinders Survey Ship. Sept 1981 promoted to Provisional Petty Officer QMG and then to HMAS Cerberus Gunnery School. Promoted to Petty Officer QMG then to HMAS Yarra 1984 then to HMAS Gladstone. Discharged from the RAN June 1987. Re Enlist 1996 and did a refresher course and posted to HMAS Success Fleet Tanker then HMAS Brisbane till 2001. Posted to HMAS Kuttabul with Recurring Back Injury and Discharged from the RAN May 2002. Total 21 years service with 17 off at Sea.1. The Junction Dam was built by the State Electricity Commission of Victoria as part of the Kiewa Hydro Electric Scheme. This photo show its construction in February 1940. The State Electricity Commission of Victoria were the employers of the Kiewa Hydro Scheme. The work included building dams, power stations and the infrastructure for the work and their employees. Mt Beauty and Bogong village were the places where this scheme was built and where this photo shows part of its construction being Power Station 3. Originally there were 3 Hydro stations built from the 1930's onwards. The scheme finished being built in 1960 and is the biggest Hydro electricity scheme in Victoria.This photo has Historic significance due to Junction Dam built as part of the Kiewa Hydro Electric Scheme by the State Electricity Commission of Victoria. This photo shows its construction in February 1940. This is a black and white photo of Junction Dam viewed from upstream. Junction Dam was part of the Kiewa Hydro Electric Scheme.
