Originally the Port Fairy Post Office built by Captain John Mason in 1865 in place of a wooden structure which he also built back in 1857. It then became the Port Fairy Borough Chambers in 1882 and the drawing shows the building inhabited by a Restaurant called "Lunch" c1990's. Courthouse built in Port Melbourne of similar vintage to Eltham's courthouse (1860). 1865 Couthouse in Port Melbourne converted into a restaurant. The courthouse was originally designed by architect John J. Clark. Since its days as a courthouse and adjacent holding cells, it's been occupied as government offices, an Anglican church, a plant nursery and a restaurant. The building had become fairly run-down with some inappropraite changes according to David Wagner of Atelier Wagner, who in conjunction with partner Jacqui Wagner worked with present owners toi breathe new life intoi the building. On the corner of Cairstairs Ave opposite Robin Hood Inn. The cafe Duckin, Mr and Mrs Kostantinidis bought it and on the side of that cafe down a verandah was the Billiard Room. It was very popular and a lot of the locals would play there. Rosemary was about 5 - 7 years old and had to stand on a fish box to play. It was very popular and next door was the Bamboo Coffee Shop run by Mr and Mrs Varney The'Duckin' became Peels bait shop Dot and Con Coucoulas took over the Bamboo and turned it into a motel not sure on the year and then bought the Duckin and demolished it. It was after Tween Lakes was built in 1959, as that was the first motel in townThe first 20 units and restaurant were built in 1959 with firsts guests on Dec. 22nd.1959.
