Tram running a route 46. Keith notes - 317 to Spencer St terminus in Flinders St from Cnr of Spencer with temporary track ready for trams on the overpass. .2 - track being tested on 21/11/1959 - has the Flinders St station and signal gantry in the background. The CW5 tramcar was effectively a W5 tram using Brill 22E bogies or trucks as an economy measure during the mid-1930s. The trams were underpowered, with MMTB No. 15 bogies being fitted in 1956.
