The tin was made for Griffiths Bros who were Australian merchants of tea, coffee and cocoa. They had branches in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Adelaide. The tins when emptied became useful storage containers.A large rectangular Griffiths Bros Choice Tea Net 7lbs. 1834 - 1934, metal storage tin with a hinged lid. Victoria's Centenary 1934 -5 is printed on the top left corner of the label. The Griffiths Bros label is in yellow script on the front with other text related to the contents, as well as a Trade Mark "SIGNAL" illustration and text at the bottom right. The label is outlined in green and yellow edging with country landscape at the top and city views at the bottom. Original Vicarage 30 Seaby Street c1863. Used by the Anglican Church until 1923 when it was sold. This house is one of the oldest in Stawell. It was built in 1863 as the residence of the Church of England Vicar. Separate to the original Vicarage the Christ Church of England was built on the hill opposite in the same year. Many couples were married in the Drawing Room of the vicarage as was the custom at the time. In 1872, 9 years later a new church called Holy Trinity Church of England was built in Main St. Stawell to replace Christ Church which had become too small and too far from the main population. The Vicarage remained until 1922 when the house next door to Holy Trinity Church was purchased as the new Vicar's residence. Black and white photograph of a brick home with cement render. Original correspondence from SO Miller to Gladys Holmes, Bakery, Byaduk written from abroad in July 1917. 3117 Pte Stanley Owen Miller was born in London, England. He worked at the McGillivray farm, Byaduk. Enlisted 8th January 1917 and served with the 38th Battio - 7th Reinforcements and embarked on the HMAT A70 Ballarat. Killed on 7th June 1917 at Villiers Bretonneux, France, aged 20. Original correspondence envelope and two page letter written by an Englishman to Gladys Holmes of the Bakery, Byaduk. When working on the McGillivray farm at Byaduk in 1917 he enlisted in the A.I.F.
