Used to rain ambulance staff in the detection and management of patient heart rhythms. Simulator was hooked up to operational monitor defribulator and operated so that the monitor defribulator simulated patient rhythms of different types. This particular unit was used at Frankston South and by the Metropolitan Ambulance Service Regional Training Unit. The sketch of the Pig & Whistle would be pre1968 as the gate was remodeled with two white half gates at this time and the ivy removed. The building was purchased in 1968 by the Benash family and renovated inside and out with a white, Tudor style outer facade. It was renamed Tatra Hut. The restaurant was sold again c1975 and became a Reception Centre. This information was provided by Victor Grotaers who was the resident solo-accordionist in 1968 when the new Tatra Hut opened. He recalls the opening night as being a large affair reported by Channel 9 at the time.Copy of a pencil sketch of 'The Pig & Whistle' restaurant at Mt Dandenong. A post card of Edinburgh from John Basil McLean, who signs himself Basil. This postcard was with other World War 1 memorabilia that has come from Private John Basil McLean, 2nd Reinforcements, 37th Battalion, A.I.F. Possibly these were with him during his time in the First World War and kept them as a mementos. J.B. McLean (Service No. 13824) was from near Maffra, Victoria and enlisted on 22 January 1916. He embarked on 16 December 1916 for Europe. He spent time with the Australian Field Artillery (Pack Section). At the end of the war he worked for a year at the A.I.F. Headquarters in London before returning to Australia on the 'Ceramic', arriving in Portsea in 1920. His full war record is available from the National Archives of Australia (B2455, MCLEAN JBM).A record of correspondence from a soldier serving in World War 1, home to his family. The State Electricity Commission of Victoria 1921 to 1993 was responsible for electricity generation in Victoria and the operation of three Provincial Tramways. It had a strong safety focus for the time.
