A programme of the annual "Anzac Commemoration Ceremony for Students", held each April. The ceremony provides a valuable opportunity for students to gain an appreciation of the Anzac spirit, the significance of the Shrine and the meaning of Anzac Day. The 4 pages outline the order of service of the ceremony, some background notes on the ANZAC Commemorations, a short history of the Shrine of Remembrance and a story of Legacy. These are from 1958, 1961, 1962, 1963, 1964. This Honour Shield was the work of the school Sloyd pupils and Head Teacher. The honour book written by the Head Teacher Mr Thomas Kidman contains the names of 14 past students of Docker's Plains Primary School who served during the First World War. Handwritten summary of service pertaining to each past student including Nurse Alice M BYRNE who served in Egypt and France.Honour Board in the shape of a shield and carved from timber originally made by the Sloyd students and head teacher of Docker's Plains State School in 1921. The Honour Board centrally houses a casket with glass door containing a velvet covered book containing the names of 14 past students who served during World War 1. When the school closed in the 1940's resident were invited the take items and William Richardson, brother of Private Leslie George Richardson who died in June 1916 from meningitis prior to embarkation, chose the shield and framed photograph collection which his mother contributed to. The end of 1964 saw the first edition of The Peninsula School Journal published. It was intended to be not only a record of School activities but also an opportunity for the students to contribute prose, verse, art and photography. The editing was done by the students under the guidance of Mr Laurie Arter, the Senior English Master. The Pen evolved from an A5 sized booklet (1964-71) to an A4 book (1972-80), then came the renaming of the publication, from the Peninsula School Journal to the Pen (1981). Numbering dropped with 1990 issue. The name "Analecta" refers to a collection of short literary pieces, however the students who put the Analecta together in 1964 defined it as meaning crumbs or gleanings. Their hope was to 'bring to its readers something of what happens at Luther College day by day, year by year'. Keith Hancock was a senior teacher at Box Hill Technical College in Dunloe Ave, Box Hill c. 1976. Keith was a student at what was then Box Hill Technical College in 1949 - 1952. Then as apprentice in 1953 - 56 qualifying as a carpenter. He was a third generation builder generally working in the City of Nunawading.
