The current (2015) Mt Beauty Tourist Centre site was to be upgraded into a 'Sports Tourism Cluster' with funding from the Government and the Alpine Shire with 'In Kind' assistance from Falls Creek Resort management Board, Parks Victoria and the Local Community & Tourism Industry. This project didn't go ahead.The Mt Beauty town was handed over to the Alpine Shire in the 1960's after completion of the Kiewa Hydro Electric Scheme. Plans for up dating facilities are on-going but are rarely completed. This poster is an example of this.Very large laminated poster depicting 6 points for the Alpine Region Sports Tourism Cluster. This poster is representative of the tourism marketing that was used in the 1990's to promote the aesthetic beauty of the township of Mt Beauty thus the play on the words, Mt Beauty, The Name Says It All. The poster also promotes activities that are on offer to the visitor in Mt Beauty and the broader area. The poster is also significant as it shows the progression in marketing by the Alpine Shire and the Mt Beauty Chamber of Commerce from the early days of marketing Mt Beauty as a tourist destination. This poster is historically significant as it shows the style of tourism campaigns of the 1990's with the slogan "Mt Beauty The Name Says It All", which is a play on the name Mt Beauty and was promoted by the Mt Beauty Chamber of Commerce and the Alpine Shire. This slogan is no longer part of the tourism for the Alpine Shire and therefore is a good comparative example of previous tourism and current tourism campaigns. A circular produced by the Marysville Tourist & Progress Association requesting assistance from members in raising funds to promote tourism in the district. This circular was sent to members in September 1965 to inform members as to which members had paid the requested funds, how much they had paid, and which members had outstanding payments still to be made. The circular was sent to encourage members to support the endeavour to raise funds to enable the town of Marysville to promote tourism in the district.
