Yields information the model tram used during the second world war and some of the people involved in fund raising in BallaratReproduction of c1944 photograph of Ballarat's Most Popular Conductress Competition to raise funds for the Red Cross Prisoner of War fund. Photo features a model tram, No. 41, known as the Treasure Tram with a group of boys and men group at the rear of the tram. Boys are dressed in army or sailors uniforms. Men dressed in army uniform and one SEC conductor with conductors bag around shoulder. From original of another reproduction believed to be held by the Ballarat Historical Society. Incorrectly labelled as being taken during 1946. See other reference for details of the Treasure Tram. Conductor believed to be Robert Morrison. Identified by Doreen Brown, 307 Simpson St. Buniyong as her father - 53 412 125, during the exhibition. Photos from the 2 May 1995 when the Transport Minister, Mr Alan Brown and Legacy President David Millie unveiled banners at Flinders St Station saying "Australia Remembers". Also the launch of a tram by Junior Legatees Kim Anderson and Peter Hazelager. Another photo is a group of dignitaries in front of the tram. The tram was painted to promote Legacy in 1995 which was the 50th Anniversary of the end of World War II. Wording on the tram says: "This year - Australia remembers the Heroes of World War II / 50 years on / Legacy never forgets to care for the widows and children of those who fought for our freedom". It appeared in The Answer in June 1995 after it had been launched on May 2nd by President David Millie and Public Transport Minister, Mr Alan Brown. The ribbon was cut by Junior Legatees Kim Anderson and Peter Hazelager. Presented to Australian Tramway & Motor Omnibus Employees Association (ATMOEA) members who were awarded Life Membership by the organisation. Appears to be unused.Demonstrates an ATMOEA life membership badge, that could be worn on a uniform or at a function.Badge on a brass/gold backing with painted enamel on the front. On the central portion of the badge, had the ATMOEA logo, with the words "Vic" with red enamel backing, and on the outer edge of the badge "Aust Tramway & Motor Omnibus Employees Association" with a royal blue background. On the bass of the badge is the word "Life Member" The back of the badge is fitted with a spring retaining clip. There are no manufacturer details. Used by tramways to indicate the position of the person to a passenger or another employee. Most likely made as a general production item by Stokes for tramways and railways.Demonstrates an item made to indicate the wearer's position of the tramway employee.Uniform Badge for a "Conductor". Manufactured by Stokes and Sons, Melbourne. Made from a cast brass item and then nickel plated. Cast in the form of the handwritten or script word/s and underlined and rounded to fit on a cap. On the rear, silver soldered on are two brass loops at either of the badge to enable to be sewn or fitted with clips onto a cap. Provided by the MMTB to its Depot Foreman as a pass for free travel on its trams and for identification. The two steel lugs would have allowed a leather strap to be fitted to the badge and clipped to a uniform or jacket. The Union commenced as the Australian Tramway Employees Association in 1910. Changed its name in 1934 to the "Aust Tramway & Motor Omnibus Employees Association" so as to incorporate bus drivers of motor omnibuses. Became part of the Rail Transport Bus Union in 1993. See reference. Union members were issued with badges to indicate their membership. They were permitted to be worn on their uniforms. Copy of the agreement with the "Melbourne, Brunswick and Coburg Tramways Trust and others" with printed cover and first sheet for the Hawthorn Tramways Trust. Provides details of the agreement with the Australian Tramways Employees Association (ATEA), including wages for various classifications, leave, working conditions, uniform, union badges (to be worn on their watch chains), discipline and signatures to the agreement. Signed by J I Abfalter and T Jewell for the ATEA, D W Dureau, KJ Vindoille, and L S Cleveland for the HTT and Mr Justice Henry Higgins for the Arbitration court. Round pressed steel badge with the words "All Lines" pressed into the badge around the top portion of the badge, the word "Car Works" and number "25" pressed into the lower half of the badge -with small horizontal lines within the individual letters. Has a brass finish with the Melbourne Tramways Board logo in the lower part of the badge. On rear badge two metal lugs have been soldered onto the badge and a leather strap with a button hole cut into to enable it to be worn on a uniform. Leather strap secured with wire. Used possibly from mid 1910's when the Board was formed until it was replaced by the MMTB in 1921. Stamped metal uniform badge for MMTB Inspectors. Tramways Board logo at top of badge in silver finish, the words "INSPECTOR" and the scroll outline in brass or gold colour. The area where the inspector's number has been painted on is in brass/gold finish. The number "5" has been painted on in royal blue colour. The enamel finish within the scroll work also finished in royal blue. On rear badge in brass/gold finish, with word "STOKES & SONS MELBOURNE" stamped into . Two metal rings have been soldered onto the rear of the badge and a spring steel clip provided to enable the badge to be clipped to a hat.\ Badge was used by the Donor as part of his work uniform.
