Tool, British Oxygen Company Ltd, Oxy-cutting and Welding Blow Pipes, c 1904
In 1903 the oxyacetylene welding process was developed. Around the same time, new cryogenic air separation processes, based on work undertaken by Carl von Linde and others, replaced the barium oxide process. This paved the way for larger scale and more efficient production. British Oxygen Company, [1905 to 1969] was formally BRIN'S Oxygen Company Ltd from 1886 to 1905. In 1969 it became BOC.
