Full colour gloss postcard of A class trams 249 and 253 in Victoria Parade, East Melbourne in May 1990 at the Simpson St. stop. Note the tram stop sign by 253. Tram 249 has the destination of City and 253 - Kew Depot. On the rear has a photo of a destination blind - showing Kew Depot with the words "75 years of Service" underneath, address and stamp blocks, PMTT logo with an A class tram in the centre. .1 - Approx 200mm dia China plate prepared for the Centenary or 100 years of The Prahran and Malvern Tramways Trust. White China with a gold rim and a red brown PMTT logo and the words "Celebrating 100 years". Made by C.R. Hose Cheltenham for Ron Scholten who organised the celebrations. .2 - ditto but with an image of the Malvern tram depot at the time of opening on the plate along with the words "Malvern Tram Depot" and the words "Celebrating 100 years". Black and white photograph of VR tramcar 42 at Elwood Depot in St Kilda St. VR tramcar 42 built at VR Newport Workshops as one of 4 air brake equipped bogie drop centre trams (40-43) and entered service at Elwood Depot in 1923. Operated by VR on the St Kilda to Brighton broad-gauge line until it was scrapped in 1957. Tramcar 42 operated the last service on the Brighton Beach to Park Street Middle Brighton, on 1 January 1956. Tram has the destination of St Kilda Station.
