Timetable Notice giving details of temporary changes to service as part of the COVID 19 response where route 12 diverted by La Trobe St, and thus provided a service along Spencer St. Route 30 was suspended. Route 11A was introduced between Docklands and St Vincent's Plaza. htd4777i1.pdf shows a timetable alteration, reduction of services after 8pm, introduction of the 8pm to 5am curfew and stage four restrictions that were to apply (hopefully) for a six week period. Newspaper clipping, photocopied on an A4 sheet from an unknown paper - possibly early 1950's and The Sun about the retirement of Arthur Hill, as the tramway shunter at Elizabeth St. First with cable trams, then electric trams, assisting with poles to do quick turn-arounds. Titled "These 6 retired yesterday - after 240 years on job" Has a photo of him in uniform cap badge Number 1975. Set of four Polaroid prints of a Mercury Arc rectified bulb. One photo has written on rear "Hewittic Rectifiers type 500/6". Image i4 has a person standing alongside. See Inscriptions. Craig Tooke, formally of Yarra Trams substations advised 12/8/2020 by email to Warren Doubleday. "An interesting photo. I don’t know who the person in the photo is. More than likely the bulb in from an industrial installation such as mine etc. and not tram or train. The reason is that only Melbourne trams has Hackbridge Hewittic rectifiers that were used for traction. There was three sets of bulbs installed at West Brunswick, Deepdene and Preston. West Brunswick is definitely still in existence and probably Deepdene is still in existence as the old substation was abandoned intact and just left intact. Preston of course has gone and was removed as part of the work done at PWS. Another clue is the number 500/6 which means it was from a 500 kW – 6 bulb unit. The traction units were all in multiples of 150 kW per bulb i.e. the tramway ones were 600 kW rated. The number "40246" is the bulb serial number. Each bulb manufactured had an individual serial number. Interesting the bulbs at Brisbane Tram Museum have the following serial numbers to the ones that were at Essendon tram sub. Set of 6 notices and other documents concerned with the sick pay during the Influenza pandemic of 1919. .1 - Notice to Superintendents, Line Mangers titled "Influenza sick pay", two foolscap duplicated sheets dated 13/5/1919 - with pencil alterations relating to item .2 .2 - Replacement notice for above, dated 15 May 1919. .3 - Form - printed foolscap sheet, ruled, to certify employees that had were sick and subscribers to the local sick pay relief fund - No. 780, printed 5/19. Keith Kings, the photographer has extensive notes hand written on the slide - that the tram was scrapped on 17/7/1959 and that it was the first W2 to be scrapped. Probably the last time 313 was photographed. Items .4 to .6 are photocopies of the same with corrections or suggested changes, all c1990. .1 - Inner City - approx. A3, Has the revised The Met symbol with a key along the lower edge detailing route numbers and routes. .2 - Southern Region Tram Map with a map key showing hospitals, points of interest, parks and gardens, some schools and zones.
