This object relates to Albury NEAL. He was born on 1/01/1893 in Ballarat, VIC. Albury served in the AIF (1885) enlisting on, 26/02/1916 in Ballarat, VIC before being discharged from duties with the 39 BATTN as a Army Non-Commissioned Private (PTE) on 11/03/1919. His next of kin is Albury NEAL. Gladys Neal was awarded the Australia Service Medal 1939-1946 and War Medal 1939-1945. Five of a collection of slides donated by Laurie Dixon. Water was pumped from Candowie Reservoir to nearby Almurta Basin and gravity fed to Wimbledon Heights Storage Basin. These open water basins were two main components of the water distribution of the day and supplied the area from 1964 to 1989. The Almurta and Wimbledon Heights Storage Basins were decommissioned in 1999 when the San Remo Basin was improved an now is the vital link in the transfer of water from Candowie via the Purification Plant.Five of a collection of slides taken by Laurie Dixon. The Northern District School of Nursing opened in 1950 to address the issues around nurse recruitment, training and education that had previously been hospital based. The residential school was to provide theoretical and in-house education and practical training over three years. The students would also receive practical hands-on training in the wards of associated hospitals. The Northern District School of Nursing operated from Lister House, Rowan Street, Bendigo. Book produced by the Science Museum provides a brief history of the cable tram system, with photos. Includes details of the engine houses, the cable, the grip mechanism, the ticket bell punch, and why "Mind the Curve". Has a list of acknowledgments. Published shortly after or at the time of the launch of the tram in the enclosure in Russell St. The additional sheet with the book provides details for each route of route, the location of the city terminus, suburban terminus, running time, night light, route length, first and last car for each day of the week. One of a series of photographs and documents donated by Jean Woollard relating to her father, Wilfred Charles Woollard, (and to herself). Wilfred Charles Woollard (1892-1971) was the grandson of William Woollard (1834-1923) and Charlotte Woollard, nee Lott (1828-1902), early settlers in Kew. Wilfred's father and mother were Walter Herbert Woollard (1856-19) and Rosa Anna Woollard, nee Morgan, (1859-1936). Wilfred Woollard's siblings were Walter James Woollard (1882- ), and Arthur Reginald Woollard (1888-1973).Black and white photograph mounted on card of workers at Richardson's Glass.
