The first Housing Commission homes of brick and tiled roof built after WW2 in Stawell Dawson Street c 1950's. Also in the file a Newspaper clipping from News, Saturday, October 11. 1947. "George Mitchell Square" the first Housing Commission homes built in Stawell. George Mitchell was a member of Borough Council for 40 years and Mayor for 4 years.
