The manufacturer's name "GROSVENOR" and the defence symbol of the broad arrow indicates that the equipment was produced by an external company.This set is representative of a typical set issued to contemporary servicemen and women and as such, has social significance as a ubiquitous relic of service. The set has strong interpretive capacity, being able to draw on issues of equipment, food, technological shifts over time. The set also represents a shift in defence equipment production from government-run manufacturing, with the Australian Government Clothing Factory and Australian Defence Apparel etc., to outsourced contracted production with existing manufacturers such as Grosvenor, an established cutlery manufacturing company.Three piece fork, knife and spoon set held together by a flat headed pin on the knife handle which clips into corresponding holes on fork and knife handles. The three collapsible, metal tipped, wooden legs are joined by hinge fittings to a brass collar with a threaded mount at one end (the head). The mounting thread is approximately 38mm diameter and fitted with a protective cap which can be removed for use, the cap being retained by a length of light chain. The stand is complete with a leather and webbing carrying strap attached to the head fitting of the stand with a leather sleeve at the other end which fits over the free end of the legs when folded.The brass collar and mount is stamped : "STAND LAMP OR HELIO A MKlll" and has the manufacturer "PUDDEFOOT, BOWERS & SIMONETT LTD, LONDON, 1940". He served a year at the Convalescent Hospital, Harefield UK, before being ordered home to complete his medical studies. He would have completed his studies near the end on 1918 and attempted to re-enlist but had not entered training before the Armistice. Doctor Leslie Woods was a General Practitioner in Albury till his death. He is buried in Albury Waugh Road Cemetery.Well provenanced object illustrating the WWI experience of a young Albury man.Two lapel badges pinned to a piece of paper with a handwritten notation. It showed they had helped the war effort by serving their country. Sometimes returned soldiers were wrongfully accused of showing disloyalty to their country because they were not seen wearing a military uniform so wearing the badge helped avoid this. A number was often stamped on the reverse and a certificate was provided as authentication. Issued 1914 - 1919WW1 The Great War, issued to soldiers who had returned from active duty so as not to confuse the general public that the person whilst not in uniform or displaying medals had in fact served their country on active duty. This hat is an example of Vietnam era military headwear. Hat, or military peak cap of olive drab fabric. Base of cap has four metal rimmed air holes at rear above band. Cap has brown leather chin strap with double band of leather across the front of visor secured by a single leather loop on each side. The chinstrap is attached to the cap at both ends, with gold buttons featuring Australian army insignia. Inside of cap has a brown leather band, attached with brown thread in a zig zag stitch; the other end of brown headband is unstitched. The cap is lined with olive green fabric which is synthetic in appearance, and covered with a clear sweat shield. A manufacturer’s label in white fabric is sewn to the centre of the inner liner.
