Medal - JOHN FREDERICK HARPER COLLECTION: FREEMASONS OF VICTORIA LIFE GOVERNOR MEDAL, 1952
Object. A 5 cm long brass pin at rear, to attach to a uniform. A clasp .75 cm deep, 4 cm long is in navy blue enamel, with gold lettering 'LIFE GOVERNOR'. From this clasp a 5 cm long light blue grosgrain ribbon holds a brass clasp or suspender, from which hangs a circular medal, with five star points. On a circle shape of dark blue enamel are the words:FREEMASONS HOMES OF VICTORIA.In the centre on a light blue enamel background is the Lodge Symbol of Compass and Square. Bible belonging to David Kinnane, Yarrowee Lodge, Number 10. The Yarrowee Masonic Lodge met for the first time on 3 February 1857 in Ballarat. Richard Ocock was elected Worshipful Master; Bernard Smith the Senior Warden and Thomas Cope the Junior Warden. Meetings were held at the George Hotel, Lydiard Street, Ballarat, on the Wednesday nearest the full moon in each month.
