Split timber fence droppers were used with the earliest wire fences especially with closer settlement areas like Tatura. Cleckheaton, Yorkshire, set up a spinning mill in Tatura in 1958 (Shepparton 1949) for approx. 30 years. When closing down some items were given away. These were given to Mr and Mrs A. Knee. The camp sites today are on private property, and as they were dismantled after the war, and on the closure of the Migrant camp, very little physical evidence remains today.Camp 3 held 1000 internees, Germans, Jews and Italians, including German Lutheran families from New Guinea, German families from Palestine (Templer settlement) and Austrian Jewish refugees. This is a Victorian Government medal give by the Victorian Poultry and Kennel Club. They conducted their show in conjunction with the local Agricultural show and provided a variety of prizes. This attracted a large amount of entries from State wide. This arrangement was repeated at many other country shows at that time if the local Show society wished to affiliate. The show at Tatura attracted over 300 poultry entries in 1914.
