This is Item 6 of 27 items in the Daisy Vickers collection of World War One memorabilia. These items were sent or given to Daisy Ogier (nee Vickers) during World War One by Corporal Arthur Anderson who enlisted from Warrnambool in 1915 at the age of 21. He served in Egypt and France and returned to Australia in 1919. Daisy Ogier (1907-1987) was a student and then a teacher at Warrnambool Technical School with her early teaching years there from 1925 to 1936 and in 1949. She became the head mistress from 1950 to 1963 and in 1968. She officially retired in 1976. Daisy Vickers was one of the best loved and dedicated teachers that the school ever had. Corporal L. Frohling served with the Tech Support Troop and later Workshop Troop of 8/13 VMR in 1970s and 1980s.Technical manuals and User Handbooks were essential equipment for Royal Australian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RAEME) tradesmen permanently attached to Armoured Corps regiments as Light Aid Detachments (LAD) or AFV Workshops and were responsible for repairs and maintenance of a nature beyond the expertise of AFV crewmen and just short of major rebuilds undertaken by Base Workshop detachments.Part of a collection of workshop manuals and user handbooks relating to equipment on issue to 8th/13th Victorian Mounted Rifles during the latter half of the twentieth century.Green coloured vinyl covered manual, 322 pages, bound with metal screws being Maintenance Manual Truck Cargo 2.5 Ton CL Ford D400. A photo of 4 children leaning out from a train carriage windows. They were junior legatees travelling by train to attend a Legacy Camp. It came from an envelope with other camp photos. A newspaper article in the Herald on 10 January 1976 says the children were: Robert Bennett, his sister Anastasia Bennett and brother Patrick Bennett and a friend Debra Packwood as they arrived in Spencer Street Station enroute to Camperdown for a two week holiday organised by Legacy. The Legacy envelope was marked "P6 Junior Legatee Camps and Hols" in red pen, and dated Jan 1977 in pencil. The contents will be items 00418 to 00425. Melbourne Legacy provided camps for junior legatees - the children of deceased servicemen. A Legacy ceremony at the Shrine of Remembrance. One of the annual "Anzac Commemoration Ceremony for Students" events, usually held just prior to ANZAC Day. The ceremony provides a valuable opportunity for students to gain an appreciation of the Anzac spirit, the significance of the Shrine and the meaning of Anzac Day. It is a photo of the children with floral wreaths on the steps of the Shrine in 1970. Item was in an envelope with other photos and programmes from different School Student ceremonies. Marriage licence issued to James Bostock and Alicen Aitkin to be executed within a period of 3 months. It has been issued by the Bishop of Melbourne of the United Church of England and Ireland. It is signed by P Teulon Beamish who was arch Deacon in Warrnambool for many years. Three Bostock brothers married three the Aitkin sisters. James was the youngest of the Bostock family as his mother died in childbirth at his delivery. He had a keen interest in horses and worked for both Augustus and John .He died in 1919. Alice died in 1896 at the age of 53.This is one of a number of documents which relate to the Bostock family who were one of the most important pioneering families of the Western District. They owned and leased various properties around Warrnambool and were involved in many aspects of social and business life.
