This bottle was probably used for feeding a baby with a milk preparation but no other information is available. This bottle is retained as an example of the type of bottle used for feeding a baby some decades past. It has no known local provenance. This is a clear glass bottle with no stopper. Photographs of Ian and Margaret Rose McKendrick (nee Vyner) on their wedding day. Margaret was the daughter of Reta and Harry Vyner who were early residents of the Kiewa area during the construction of the Hydro Electric Scheme. Margaret and Ian were married at St. Mathews Anglican Church, Albury on 11th January 1958. The cream dress that Margaret wore was her Mother's dress, Reta Vyner. Note: Wedding Dress is stored in Box 66. Wedding Photo is in KVHS 0970(B) This wedding dress was part of a display in the Information Centre and is part of the social history of Mt. Beauty and Bogong Village during the construction period of the Kiewa Hydro Electric Scheme. It is typical of the apparel worn in the 1950's. This photograph shows the wharf in the 1980's. It is the early days of tourism, and shows Helen Coulson, dressed in period costume guiding the tourists. The sign shows distances from Echuca to significant sites on the Murray River in miles, as that was the way distance was calculated in the 1870's. The sign is no longer there.This photograph shows Helen Coulson as a tour guide. Helen was the first Manager of the Port of Echuca from the mid 1970's. The tourism industry was still in it's infancy and Helen was a strong supporter of the Port. The photograph is one of a series of photographs taken by Mike Rosel. Photographs P000027, P000028.2, P000029.3, P000030.2, P000031, P000032 are all held by Mike Rosel. This photograph shows Helen Coulson, the first Manager of the Port of Echuca, dressed in period costume, conducting a guided tour for a group of tourists, in the early 1980's. In the background another tour group is being guided through the Echuca Wharf Railway station. Shackell's Bond Store can be seen in the background. Echuca Hotel in High Street can also be seen in the distance. In the foreground there is a pile of sand bags.These photographs are significant because it shows Helen Coulson as a tour guide. It also shows that High Street could be seen from the wharf in the 1980's. Heliograph
Signalling heliograph which has been manufactured using a variety of military hardware items. Presumably this heliograph was improvised in the field as a result of damage to a standard issue item. This heliograph has parts which have been sourced from other standard military issue equipment, for example, knobs from cooking pots. The item uses the mirrors which are normally found in the standard issue heliograph. This heliograph has two large mirrors (for long distance signalling) and a smaller mirror (for short distance signalling). The mirrors are mounted on adjustable arms for positioning and aiming.no markings to note -

The Strand Magazine was a monthly British magazine founded by George Newnes, composed of short fiction and general interest articles. It was published in the United Kingdom from January 1891 to March 1950, running to 711 issues, though the first issue was on sale well before Christmas 1890. The Magazine contains articles and fiction by various authors including; chapters VI to XXI of The First Men in the Moon by H.G. Wells illustrated by Claude A. Shepperson; My Life on Devil's Island by Captain Alfred Dreyfus; Strange Stories from Life: three stories by Conan Doyle, An interview with Conan Doyle, and A Visit to Tennyson by Lewis Carroll and others. The magazine's cover, an illustration looking eastwards down London's Strand towards St Mary-le-Strand, with the title suspended on telegraph wires, was the work of Victorian artist and designer George Charles Haité. The initial cover featured a corner plaque showing the name of Burleigh Street, home to the magazine's original offices. The lettering on the plaque in Haité's design was later changed when Newnes moved to the adjacent address of Southampton Street. Six issues bound in one volume. Complete with half-title and title page with an index of contents. Yellow endpapers, slight foxing, and some tears on pages. Text and illustrating are clean and readable. Inside, the inner hinges are firm with no splits at the endpapers making for a sound and solid binding. All complete and in good order. The 'Cycles' series is an extension of two large scale provisional installations '150 Rotations', Melbourne Now, National Gallery of Victoria, and '356 Rotations', AC Institute in New York, which also re-purposed and aestheticised multiple paper units into hundreds of circular motifs.The immediate tactile connection with the material excesses and detritus of contemporary consumer culture informs the theoretical framework and conceptual understanding of Gower's practice, and associates her work with ideas of recovery and re-purpose, sustainable practice and thrift strategies that critique excesses of mass production and the notion of impermanence.
