The others in plain white mounts. Slides dated Dec. 1968. 1192.1 - No. 21 out bound to Golden Square in High St., between Wattle and Vine Streets. Photo taken after tram has passed photographer. Has a sign for "Reid's Furnituorium" in the background. 1192.2 - Bendigo No. 28 dressed up as Myers Christmas tram, passing the Post Office and Courts in Pall Mall. 1192.3 - Bendigo No. 23 at Needle Loop en route to Eaglehawk. On rear in black ink is a SEC advertisement "ELECTRICITY makes life easier" with the SEC's little boy wrapped in a towel logo. The 200 tickets have been stapled onto a heavy cardboard back with a heavy metal staple and a small cardboard retaining strip at the top of the ticket. Has space for branch, as at date, with signatures of Compiler. Form has number TRM 583-1 (OP109) , with two large holes on left hand side for holding or filing into accounts books. Form ruled in blue ink horizontally and red ink vertically with some horizontal lines. A similar form, printed only in black, without the holes also donated by Peter Watt. Has fare values up to 18c. Originally a block of 200 tickets been stapled onto a heavy cardboard back with a heavy metal staple and a small cardboard retaining strip at the top of the ticket. The ticket number is in black ink while the "Ab" prefix is in red. On each side various codes when clipped denoted the destination or section the ticket was validated for. Tickets 975003, 4 and 5 are loose. Tickets Nos - 975026 to 037 have been torn out prior to collection. Each ticket in block has been punched to form a round hole or part to cancel the ticket. Thought to be used prior to 1950's around the second world war. See Reg. Has sheet or print number of TYE 1-250 3045.2 - Photocopy of the same form with fares up to value of 1/-c, three city tickets, no pensioners and parcels of 6d. Original form to Bendigo Tramways. Under sheet number of TYE 1-250, has date of (R6/63). 3045.3 - similar to 3045.1 - but different TYE number and differences in font etc. While fare denominations to max value of 7d, has does not have City and Pensioner fares - used prior to the introduction of these fares - 1/11/1955 to 1/7/1958. Issued to Ray Hall by Lew Walker and marked on rear as such.Two SEC tickets - 18c and 16c. 18c - ticket standard issue at the time - A407234 - See Reg Item 1724 for full details. SEC 16c ticket - yellow ink on off white paper, denomination 16c, lettered A521545, headed State Electricity Commission of Victoria, Provincial Tramways. On rear in yellow ink is a SEC advertisement "ELECTRICITY makes life easier" with the SEC's little boy wrapped in a towel logo. The ticket number is in black ink. On rear in black ink are words "Last ticket issued on Ballarat Tramways Sept 19, 1971. By Conductor L. Walker No 54 on last car 40 from Sebastopol to depot." Gas works in the background. No. 5 has a white disk on the rear of the tram. 1209.2 - Nos 2 and 26 at Charing Cross with the Fountain Plaza in the background. Both trams have the destination of Quarry Hill, though 26 is on the Eaglehawk bound track. 1209.3 - No. 19 at the Golden Square terminus, with the conductor or driver swinging the pole and Billy Rodda's Golden Square hotel in the background. 1209.4 - No. 7 at Fire Station loop, en route to North Bendigo, picking up a passenger with a pram. Part of a set of 20 slides made by the Association of Railway Enthusiast Provincial Tramways film strip. On front cover, printed in white ink is SECV name, logo, words, "Provincial Tramways", "Instructions for Tramway Traffic Inspectors", "Issued 1951", and a note that the book remains the property of the SEC. Inside cover as above with location for name and date to whom book was issued to. Indexed. Contents gives rules for behaviour, ticket checking procedures, reports, traffic supervision, safety and accidents. Copies 2 and 3 on display in cabinet in 39 since 1992 until 10/04. Copies 4, 5 and 6 - each have BTPS Catalogue Number written in on title page. (revised 12/8/05) Copy 7 - added 17/1/2007 - issued to Dave Kellett. Used by L. Walker, No. 54 on Saturday Sept 18, 1971, on tram No. 35 between Sebastopol and Lydiard St. North. Shows opening numbers in four figures and the closing numbers in three. Gives details of 12 trips from commencing at 7.55pm and finishing at 11.55pm. Has inscription on form "The Last Trip Way Bill on abandonment of Tramways Ballarat Sept 18, 1971, Lew Walker, Conductor / Motorman". See Reg Item 259 and 1057 for references. Question - did they do Trip Way Bills the following day, the last day on Sept. 19 1971? Gives the opening and closing number of tickets or checks issued to the conductor, check returned by conductor, total number issued, value, returned by conductor, cash returned, Prepared in L (pound), shilling and pence format, or notes, silver and copper. Used in during the mid 1950's. Has space for hospital vouchers and area where signed by conductor. Printed on off white paper. Has form number TYE 1-280. Two copies held. On the rear of one sheet has written ink ticket denominations issues from 28/2/1963 to 1/1/1969 - seven different series, though first have then been crossed out. Repeat on second sheet. Gives value of tickets issued, including scholars and parcel tickets. 3046.2 - Lined foolscap sheet - hand written notes on fares up till June 1958, then through to 1/2/1969 - 6 different fare schedules. Tickets have not been individually numbered with the Registration Number, but can be identified by their ticket number and denomination. Most of the SEC tickets have the SEC logo "Electricity makes life easier! and small boy wrapped in a towel on the back, unless otherwise noted. Photos divided into the three SEC Provincial Tramway ...Album comprises heavy cardboard covers with brown Rexene covers, with inside papers of heavy dark grey photo album paper, 36 leaves of dark grey photo paper and two brass interscrews within black grommets. See Condition Details re damage to back cover. Album contains 32 photos - personal prints of Keith Kings. Title page has been hand written to Les Denmead, dated 6/7/1970, thanking Mr. Denmead for his assistance over the years. Photos divided into the three SEC Provincial Tramway cities, each with a typed name proceeding the set of photos. Two further photos of Geelong were at the rear of the album, but were not in position when catalogued. One of these photos may be Reg. Item 1874 - photo of Geelong scrubber tram. Each of the photographs have been separately registered, as shown in the table below. Scanned images made of front and back of the photos. Back has Keith Kings ID number, description, notes and date of photo. Conservation Notes prepared - within the cataloguing sheet - see related documents. Folio Reg. 2059.1 - Photo of SEC Ballarat No.41 passing through the railway gates at Ballarat Railway Station, Lydiard St. North, with the destination of "Sebastopol". Tram has a SEC "Everything's under control in my all electric kitchen". Reid's Coffee Palace is the background. Photo shows the Ballarat Railway station clock tower, part of the train shed and the signals on the station side of the gates and another bogie tram waiting at the end of the double track in Lydiard St. for No. 41 to pass. 2059.2 - ditto, but with the two trams passing each other. The Provincial Hotel is also in the photograph. Kodak cardboard mount slide, taken by Peter Moses assumed Jan. 1969, dated only "Jan", but date lines up with Bendigo slides and type of numbering. Trams tramways SECV Ballarat Tourist Ticket ...Demonstrates ticketing systems in Ballarat and in particular the use of a tourist ticket to enable people to travel around the whole of Ballarat on the trams. Yields information about the ticketting system and how surplus stocks were overprinted for future use. The same ticket stock could be used in all three of the SEC provincial tramways.Set of four SECV - Ballarat Tourist Tickets - 1/- on light weight card, light manilla colour - printed originally for the years 1944, 1945 and 1946, overprinted in red ink for 1947, 1948 and 1949. Features Miss Winifred Gurr of the Queenscliff office, as the Good Fairy, Electricity at the Geelong Centenary Celebrations. Has the SEC logo or motif on the top of the cover. 2971.2 - Photocopy of an article in the State Electricity Commission of Victoria Magazine, Contact, Vol 3, No. 3, Nov. 1938 titled "The Development of Ballarat's Electricity Supply". One A3 sheet and one A4 sheet. The article details the SEC's part in the celebration of Geelong's Centenary Celebrations in October 1938. Opened by Mayor, Alderman C. N. Brown. Details the lighting needs for the celebrations, 400kW, the large motor traffic who came to see them, damage due to Gales, public buildings illuminated and the procession. Includes details of the decorated trams - 1500 paper floors and 400 lamps. Has photos of Moorabool St, a decorated Pengelly tram and Power Station. On page 4 is a letter from an American visitor, Dorothy Bradner congratulating the tramways. Record revised 3/4/2019 to add digital images with those from Andrew Cook CD. Images added of pages 22 and 37 Page 22 - image 12 - titled "The Provincial Big Three" - photos of the Managers of the Ballarat, Geelong and Bendigo Regions - Mr. T. A. Farr, Mr. H.N. Hornabrook and T.H. McNaught. Page 37 - image 11 - Staff movements of General Interest - records the retirement of W. White Tramways Inspector Geelong, and appointments - W. J. McKinnon appointed as Tramway Inspector and Mr. C. S. Ball, appointed Senior Traffic Inspector. Has numbers "1" to "31" on bottom section of the ticket. Has space on front for day of availability to be written in and passengers signature.
