Local newspaper article, 10 January, 1991 by Carolyn Deed, reporting buildings at the school's country retreat at Gooram, south of Euroa, were burnt to the ground when a blaze swept through the area. Norwood High School principal, Mr Ian McPharlan, rushed to the site as soon as he heard the news that fires had hit the area and arrived to find only charred remains of what had been the result of 20 years of hard labor from the school and community.

Photocopy of a newspaper article titled Discover Bendigo by James Lerk titled The Mine Flooding Crisis - Finale of the Victoria Quartz. Soon after the flooding of the mine commenced in June 1910, tributers worked the upper levels. By 1913 the Company found it was uneconomic to allow tributers to continue working in the upper levels. Four Bendigo men, Ernest Smith, David Holden, Jack Harrison and David Patullo worked the mine during the Depression. They did well. Letter written on blue paper with printed letterhead and emblem and dated 15 Aug 1866. Letter mentions sending a copy of the Widows & Orphans Fund Laws of the Foresters in the Melbourne District and also one of the Odd Fellows in the Bendigo District. He asks that they take care of the copy of the Odd Fellows Laws as he has to return it as soon as done with. Also some new are being printed & there will be some alterations. Signed by Jas Thos Holl. This bottle held "Peck's Paste', The company, Harry Peck & Co., was founded in 1891 and soon began making potted meats and fish pastes in their factory in South London. Strip shopping and ample parking were features of suburbs in the middle of the twentieth centuries. Cars were still considered a luxury, although that would soon change, and local, independent shops serviced local areas.During the post-war years, the municipality of Moorabbin experienced a population boom. The 'newcomers' were predominantly returnees from the war who were marrying and establishing families; those from the old inner-suburban areas who were moving away from rented premises to establish their own homes on cheap land. John (Jack ) Donaldson was born in Raywood in 1886 but he was raised in Inglewood. A natural runner he held 6 world records in sprint events from 100 yards to 400 yards. He came second in his first appearance at the Stawell Gift in 1906. He was nicknamed "The Blue Streak" and raced all over the world in official professional races, exhibitions and challenge events. He moved to New York in 1919 where he married Ethel Auer in 1925. He ran a gymnasium in NY but committed suicide in 1933. He is remembered each year with the running of the "Jack Donaldson 200m. handicap " race at the Stawell Gift meeting.Bendigo Advertiser ''the way we were'' from Friday, January 2, 2004. World champion: Inglewood's John Donaldson, better known as Jack, was born in 1886. Although he lacked professional training, Jack skyrocketed to fame as a sprinter. Starting at the Stawell gift, his stride of eight feet, four inches, soon earned him world records for the 150 and 300 yard races; records which stood for nearly 100 years. Amelia Allan (Amy) Jacobs on her marriage to James Dodgshun in 1916; photographed at the home of her grandfather, "Terreglea" in Boundary (Warrigal) Road, Surrey Hills. Amelia attended Ormiston Girls' School in Mont Albert soon after its opening in 1900. Her mother was Eleanor Mills, youngest daughter of Robert Shortbridge Mills and Ann Lovelady. She died soon after the birth of Amy. Her father was Henry Atwood Jacobs. Following Eleanor's death Henry married Amy Lilian Scales. The donor Winifred Yarnold (nee Jacobs) was their youngest daughter and Amy's half-sister.Lady dressed as bride wearing a white dress and possibly a lace jacket with a fluffy collar and matching hat, carrying a large bouquet of flowers.
