This holster was copied by the Canadians from the British Pattern 1937 web equipment designed to hold the British .38 Calibre Enfield No.2 Mk 1 Revolver. Canada produced its own P37 webbing during WW2 and commenced production in 1940. Two companies produce the vast majority - Z L & T Ltd in Guelph, Ontario and M S & U Ltd (Montreal Suspender and Umbrella Manufacturing Company Limited) in Montreal, Quebec. A great deal of webbing was sent to Australia. These pistol cases saw much use by our troops during WW2 and holstered US Smith & Wesson 'Victory' model and various British Webley .38 revolvers in addition to Enfields.Khaki cotton webbing holster with press studded flap for a .38 calibre revolver. The Museum was first considered in 1963 when it was felt that Victorian narrow gauge railway history was quickly being destroyed by progress. Originally it was planned to only cater for two locomotives and some rolling stock associated with the Moe and Walhalla Railway. Construction of the site commenced on Labour Day Weekend in March 1964, the area was then fenced. The first exhibit arrived soon after and companies with locomotives and other railway features offered items to the Museum. When interesting exhibits from the "Steam Era " were known to be coming available,discussions were held with the owners in an attempt to obtain the item for preservation. In 1965 an Umbrella style shed was built and by May, the first locomotive ex Erica State Saw Mill (CLIMAX) had arrived. Celebrations for the 80th Anniversary of Legacy were held in the grounds of Government House in 2003. Photos include the President David Ford speaking to the crowd and Margaret Armstrong sitting under a red umbrella. The note with the photos says: "Legacy's 80th Anniversary Function Over 1200 people recently attended Legacy's 80th Anniversary Function. The sun streaming through the picturesque garden surroundings at Government House contributed to the success of the day. Many of the guests enjoyed catching to the success of the day.
