These School Papers, numbers 431 to 440, were distributed to pupils on a monthly basis beginning in 1896, as extra reading material in addition to the Victorian Reader. The owner, Millie Crameri (nee Rae) was a pupil at Gapsted State School Number 2241. During the 1960s the form of The School Papers changed into 3 grades of readers:Meteor, Comet and Orbit.A complete example of a 20th century textbook used in a rural school with insights into course content and learning modes of that time.Of local significance because Millie Crameri was a well known local identity. There is a sticker inside the front cover with Millie's name and details inscribed, presumably in her own handwriting. A brown hard cover folder containing monthly reading material for both Grades 7 and 8 during 1937. The photograph shows a picture of Evans Street Sunbury taken from the T intersection at Macedon Street and looking south. When the photograph was taken it was one of Sunbury's main residential areas. Since the 1980s the houses in the image have been demolished and replaced with commercial development.- Over the years Evans Street has undergone much change from being a residential strip to being the main commercial hub in Sunbury.– An enlarged photograph of a streetscape with a row of trees growing along the footpath and a number of weatherboard Victorian style double fronted cottages. The home was known as 'Montalto'. It was built by Andreas Hansen in 1888. It was purchased by Dr John Box in 1913 and was demolished in the 1950s to make way for Sythney Court. The property was surrounded by extensive grounds and abutted Surrey Gardens. David Andrew was born in Castlemaine in 1866 and moved with his family to Bendigo in 1871. He took over his fathers auctioneering business which was situated on the corner of Hargreaves and Williamson Streets in 1893. David Andrew married Myra Swan McIntyre in 1888 and they had two children. After the death of Myra in 1892 aged 27 he married Myra's younger sister Clare and together they had a further two children. David Andrew was a prominent member of the old Bendigo Caledonian Society, Captain of the Bendigo Fire Brigade, a member of the Bendigo Masonic Lodge and for many years Secretary of the Easter Fair. He served as a Councillor from 1904 - 1925 and Mayor 1909 - 10 and 1913 - 14.Event program for the Mayor's Ball. Gold and purple print on white and cream card. A large lot of papers, including this and many other telegrams, were apparently found in the ceiling cavity of the Sandy Creek/Tarnagulla Post and Telegraph Office in the later 20th Century, during building works.
