One of a number of photoboards commissioned by Latrobe City to celebrate the centenary of his 1899 birth. The Sir Macfarlane Burnet Library at Grey Street Primary School, Traralgon, was dedicated in 2001. Mac and his sisters Doris and Annie attended Traralgon State School, then located in Campbell Street. This book was created for the centenary celebration of the Ringwood State School No. 2997, located on Greenwood Avenue, Ringwood, Victoria. Construction began on the new building in 1921. Two stapled pages, headed Cohns Limited, Wine and spirit merchants, aerated water, cordial and sauce manufacturers, canned food processors. Wishes their patrons a Happy Christmas and states that, to mark the Centenary of their Company, they are making a donation to the hospitals in their trading area. £1,370 is the total sum. It was erected by the Waranga Shire Council to commemorate the centenary of the Victorian Exploring Expedition`s passage through the Barnadown district in 1860. Gertrude Perry was born in California Gully in 1917. Her singing skills were recognized at an early age. She later sang with local choirs and sang on radio. She was involved with the Bendigo Operatic Society for many years. Gertrude began her working life in sales. After studying book keeping she worked at the Bendigo Ordnance Factory during WW2 and then worked for local solicitors and accountants.
