Mentions Mr. Stan Hoath as President and Mr Tom Evans MLA who chaired the meeting during the election. Piece of heavily worn trolley wire taken from south bound ear, just before ear 41B. Wire in area (on the joiner side) had failed about two months prior to replacement. Sample taken 8 December 1997 during replacement operations. Was on a curve. Two screw marks at one end from being inside a wire joiner. Heavily worn over the years with groove only one side of wire. Top of wire green (oxidised) and dark grey on underside where not contacted by wheel. Has been cut at both ends. Wire curved after taking down naturally. Yields information about the appearance of Geelong's trams in particular ex Melbourne J class trams after receipt in Geelong. This tram later became Ballarat No. 11.Black and white print from a Geoff Grant negative of a Geelong bogie tram entering Corio Terrace from the Geelong depot on 8/1/1956, while Pengelley 19 waits in the siding. Yields information about the identification methods used by the ESCo to identify their crews to public and has a strong association with the individuals who wore them over time.Pressed metal uniform badge for ESCo Conductors. Round pressed steel badge with the words "ESCo OF V. LTD." pressed into the badge around the top portion of the badge, the word "CONDUCTOR" and number "13" pressed into the lower half of the badge -with small horizontal lines within the individual letters. Appears to have had a nickel silver finish originally. On rear badge two metal lugs have been soldered onto the badge. Has words "STOKES & SONS" stamped in reverse on the lower rear of the badge. Photocopy of an article in the State Electricity Commission of Victoria Magazine, Contact, Vol 3, No. 2, Aug 1938 titled "The Development of Ballarat's Electricity Supply". Two A3 sheets. The item with six photographs details the history of the development of Ballarat's Power Supply. Details development of the initial power supply in Dana St, the take over by ESCo, DC power initially, expansion, introduction of AC in 1925 to Ballarat, the takeover by the SEC in 1934, changeover from DC to AC, expansion to outlying areas, Buninyong, Creswick etc. Gives description of installed plan, boilers, storerooms and the stores systems. Has photos of the Dana St. building, Ballarat A power station, Ljungstrom Turbo Alternator and three of the stores area. Record revised 3/4/2019 to add digital images with those from Andrew Cook CD.
