Handwritten notes on a talk on Mining in Bendigo. Notes are about the Regulation of Mines Act, Jan 1st, 1874. This bill was introduced in the Legislative Assembly on October 16th 1873, by Bendigo's (Sandhurst) Minister for Mines, Angus Mackay and became law on January 1st, 1874. This act made a lot of changes regarding safety in the mines. Some of the mine-owners were not pleased. Handwritten extract from the Bendigo Advertiser 3/1/1874. Regulation in force from 1st january 1874.
