The service was terminated at this point for some 6 weeks while Wendouree Parade was resurfaced and other track work done. Comprising plain paper end papers and 104 printed pages (52 leaves), with each sheet printed in black on feint ruled paper for recording the hours worked and other details of drivers and conductors employed by ESCo. Laments their passing, rides, crews, St. Kilda Road, the tramcars and the services provided. A flag or banner made for the centenary of Melbourne trams in 1985 by the Metropolitan Transit Authority to be used on the route number boxes on Melbourne W class trams. Made from a synthetic fabric, sewn on all four edges, with left hand edge made with a slot to fit a wooden pole. Photograph taken by The Courier - photo taken 27/10/1971, published 28/10/1971 of the Removal of tramway overhead wire, Bridge & Main Sts corner. shows an SEC bucket truck with a workman removing the signalling cabling, with a policeman at either end of the truck providing traffic control. Shows the track in the street and the overhead junction. In the background is Gears Chemist, a fruit shop (Fruit Palace), Bank of New South Wales, and a Kodak advertisement on the chemist building.
