Solomano Gas Producer Unit, circa 1940
Les Solomano tells us this unit was made by their cousin Frank Solomano and mounted on the passenger side running board of his A Model Ford, Spare bads of charcoal were tied to the rear door, so passengers had to get in and out through the driver side doors. It is the smallest Gas Producer unit we have seenThis Gas Producer unit is obviously a home made construction for a specific application. Absence of any air-cooling facilities suggests these may have been fitted separately inside the engine compartment. No specific marlings -

Tusons Gas Producer Unit, Tusons
In conversation with Mr Tibbett we found out that he obtained this particular unit at an auction in Sydney and brought it home with the intention of one day getting it going again. 'One day' never seemed to come, so he decided to let us have it for our display, rather than jjust collecting dust in his shed. This unit is again of a different manufacturer and construction, highlighting the versatile nature of charcoal producer gas and its applications. A commercially made cast iron unit with a solid round hopper/boiler on a steelframe base. It has a pressure-cooker lid and a car type radiator. Solid built, but rust affected in partsMake: Tysons Cross Draught Model: Official 30hp Heavy Duty Serial: 1368 -

Equipment - Fire Fighting Knapsack, REGA Products Ltd, c1945
The spraying units were manufactured in Australia by REGA Products. Ltd. in 1926. They established themselves as leaders in the production of agricultural and horticultural spraying machines, including smaller knapsacks. Knapsacks were quickly adapted to a range of applications and were widely used by the C.F.A (Country Fire Authority). They were also widely used for defence during World War II. REGA was later purchased by the Garrard family and still operate as part of Garrads Pty Ltd. This sprayer was one of the units used by the C.F. A. in Wodonga. The Country FIre Authority was established in 1945 following a Royal Commission into the 1939 Black Friday fires which recommended a single firefighting authority for country Victoria, bringing together the Bush Fire Brigades, Country Fire Brigades and Forest Commission. The first fire brigade, the Wodonga Urban Fire Brigade was formed in 1891 and registered in May 1893. Since that time its volunteers have provided ongoing support to the Wodonga and District communities through events such as urban fires, bushfires and other emergency situations. This item is representative of the Wodonga Country Fire Authority and its many volunteers.A knapsack sprayer designed to be used for spraying insects. Household, Badges, Early 20th century
Of the seventeen items on this board, most appear to be from British military units – Rifle Regiments, Despatch, etc. They appear to be shoulder and arm patches or badges. One appears to be of German origin and two come from Italy. This item is of great interest, firstly because it is a good example of the crude, but effective way, items were organized for display at the Warrnambool Historical Society in the 1960s and 70s. Secondly, the display contains an interesting variety of military insignia, many requiring further study. This is a piece of cardboard covered with black cloth which has been stitched to the board with black cotton. Attached to the cloth by metal clips are 17 metal and cloth badges and insignia from military units. The cloth material is red, white and green. ‘Gott Mit Uns’military insignia, history of warrnambool -
